Just found out DH can't take vacation until the summer{June,July,Aug}this is not when we wanted to go but that is no longer a choice we are in control of.So the question is out of those months when would you and why. :confused3
We are going to be staying at the all-star music so I thought I should add that incase anyone knows of a reason not to go or stay there at a certain time.
ok all thanks.

June......the weather is still nice, not so hot yet. We like the 2nd week of June. princess:

Thanks.I only have one question for ya.Do you always go at that time because we went once the last week of June last year and it rained everyday.

The summer is hot but I found June to be do-able for a couple of reasons:

1. If you can get there in the 1st week of June you might miss the 'out for the summer' crush.

2. The rain & t storms cooled things off so if you can, don't leave when it rains...just wear swimsuits under nylon shorts with easy drying shoes/sandels.

3. The parks will be open super late so I always tried to get to the parks early then left around 10:30-11. We would head back to the hotel and enjoy the pool until 2 (the heat can be exhausting), then we have a snack & rest until 4 when we leave for an early dinner at a park for 4:30-5. By the time we are done eating 5:50-6 its prime dinner time and lots of people are away from the rides.

As for the choice of hotels, yes cheaper is always better but All Star is a really huge hotel complex with 1 bus stop and at peak season the crowds there might be uncomfortable. If I were you I might try and squeeze a moderate into the budget (POFQ is small) especially since it seems WDW is offering the room only discount codes again:) If this isn't possible try and get a look at some websites that have maps, there is a link here on the DIS to see where you would like to be located in the All-Stars. The unofficial guide book recommends rooms in different hotels so that might be useful. WDW will take requests. Generally, away from the elevators & stairs is quiet & higher floors are quieter than lower ones. Being near the busses & pools is more convenient but being in a main corrider will wake you up when people stampede back from the busses at night.

Whatever you choose have an awsome time.

I have gone in June 3 times. We have been very lucky with weather, we may have gotten one day of full rain the others maybe a small shower. Never have we had a whole week of rain.

We have friends that have gone in July/Aug. and could not enjoy it because of the heat.

It is all about what you think you can handle.

It does get very humid in June.

From doing research here on the Dis June is less crowed than July/Aug. princess:

Honestly we didn't mind the rain in June all that much however there was one day that it rained so hard and we waited for a bus so long that all our shoes got completely soaked and we had to wear our sandles the rest of the week which was fine with myself and my DD'S but my DH & DS wanted their sneakers back bigtime.lol.
I wish my budget allowed for a moderate hotel what is this code you were referring too?I am not very savy with how they work and were to look them up.I also will need park pass's as well .Will this code effect that in anyway? :surfweb:

Mousesavers posts the codes as they are released. At the moment the codes only apply through some of the winter. But, since these room-only discounts have been scarce lately I am hopeful their new appearance is a signal that they will continue through 2007.

I usually do room only. They are easier to cancel or change than packages and since prepay rates apply to 6 months before or 1 day before you leave the rush for tickets isn't necessary.

Disney's free dining program promotion began on August 20th this last year. You could book a trip for June and change it to Aug. if they do that again. Wasn't the promotion announced in April or early May?

We generally go in June and the rain has never been a huge issue. It did affect - but not ruin - one water park day for us.

We went in early June last year and the heat wasn't bad...it was the humidity. EEK! The rain wasn't bad and the crowds weren't too bad either! I've seen worse crowds at DL during the off season :)

The only crowds we encountered were at The Studios by Star Tours because it was Star Wars weekend and the Star Wars movie had come out that summer. Needless to say it was nuts. But the rest of the park was manageable.

Ok well its looking like June is the going to be best time to go.Thanks for all the imput.I have one other question.
I was pricing the differnce between the values and moderates and it would cost me $400 more to stay in a moderate instead of the values.
Being we don't get to Disney that often every 2 years or so I was wondering do you think it would be worth it to stay in the moderate?
We always do park hoppers and water parks. We didn't spend much time at the hotel but thats because it was our first trip and there was so much to see and do in the parks. This next trip I think we would want to do alittle more relaxing so I was considering tighting the belt a bit and perhaps doing a moderate instead this time around.
Have any of you stayed in both value & moderate?Would you spend the extra,Is it worth it?Is there that much of a difference?
Which moderate for children{17,15,14,12,9}would you chose and why?
Thanks again all. :grouphug:
