When would you give up on Star Wars Nite happening this year?

So for our Disneyland trip at the beginning of May we have purchased 5 day parkhoppers but also have extra nights booked at the hotel to allow for a couple of days off and also a day where we could sleep in and do star wars nite on either May 3 or 4, but so far it's still not announced. (we really wanted more than just 5 days in the park, and Star Wars Nite was going to give us an extra half day!) For all you seasoned Disneyland goers. At what point (date wise) would you decide/accept that it's just not going to happen and just buy an extra day or two in the park instead?

This is a tricky question. I saved up all last year for Star Wars nite 2023, but it wasn't announced with the other "After Dark" events. We have already given up and are going in March instead. I do still worry we gave up too early, but there's no indication they'll have Star Wars nite. I heard it only happens every 2 years, but of course I can't say that with 100% certainty.

Since May is a long way off you might as well wait until at least March if waiting isn't going to get in the way of the rest of your planning.

the only way waiting would get in the way is if the one day tickets sell out or go up in price between now and then :scared:

According to the Disney Food Blog the Magic Happens viewing dining package will be unavailable on nights with “After Dark” events. Including the dates: 4/9, 5/13, 5/14, 5/29, 6/18, 7/4 & 7/8. So, there will be more events, but they haven’t announced the themes yet.

hmm, interesting. But that does not sound like there's going to be Star Wars Night then because that would certainly on May 4th, Star Wars day, right? I mean I know last year there was one on May 3, 4 and May 27, but the fact that there's nothing on May 4th seems like there's not going to be Star Wars Nite.
