When worlds collide~the original flats meet in 4D!!

thanks...I'm feeling better today after the 20 snickers I ate.

yes, they are spoiled rotten....it was d.jay's idea.

:rotfl2:

we've asked several people to adopt them for christmas....we go overboard every year, no matter how many times I say I'm not going to.

looking forward to the trip is saving my sanity!

nah...I'll just send her to live in your "home".:thumbsup2

The trip is definately a sanity saver:banana:

MIL in my house :scared1::scared1: Wait a minute would she pay for the remodelling!!!:rotfl2:

Know the feelingof "spoiled rotten " at Christams we have 3 spoiled urchins !!!:rotfl2:

Great pics from Christmas! It looks like all the kids had a great one and YAY for individual laptops- now they won't be fighting over who gets its, or who's next! hehe I love this kid pictures.. they are always funny.

Holy fart knocking behemoths Batman! That's insane. INSANE I TELL YOU. 3 weeks ago my MIL woke us from a dead sleep at 2:30 in the morning pounding on our door to announce a surprise visit. She leaves tomorrow. As unsettling as it was, it doesn't even compare to preemptive remodeling. Good luck on keeping your stack from blowing through the hole that has apparently been conveniently placed in the ceiling.

Not something you want at 230am

so i have to admit i was a lurker on you last trip report but i cannot wait to read this one. the way you write cracks me up...anytime you want to surprise someone with a trip and they will actually appreciate it you can invite me :-) anyway I just wanted to say HI!!

gahhhhh.

;I just spent 20 minutes responding and explaining more about the house fiasco and for no aparent reason my browser went bye bye.

so, I'll start over.....

the mess with the house we found was caused by the stairs being moved. We had intended to move them but there was a problem once they started with having enough head room.
So instead of moving them along the other wall, which is the most logical solution MIl told them to just run the stairs halfway at a 90 angle which cut outy almost half of the kitchen.....

Logic and MIL aren't known to go together. I guess she thought she was going to surprise us with the kitchen being all done...the contractors asked her several times if that's what we'd said to do and she just told them to "trust her".
So, Instead of coming home to a finished or close to being finished kitchen we came home to a total disaster and 2 to 3 more weeks before the kitchen is done.

Everything has to be re-done, on the bright side, where the stairs are going is better than the original plan and gives me a little more space in the dining room.

Now, :I'm praying that it's done before we leave, because who knows what else she could mess up.:headache:

Does it impact your cabinet layouts and all of that?

Yikes!

Sending 2 week vibes so you can have peace of mind on your trip!

And if not, you need to appoint someone OTHER than MIL to check on things and make sure there are no changes made.

it would have screwed our cabinets up totaly....we would have about 3 feet of counter space minus the sink and stove top.

but with things changing we'll have the kitchen the way we planned and a little bit more room in the dinning room....actualy it's more of a "space" than room.

So glad things are working out after all!! Odd that she would have taken far more authority than she should have! Then again, maybe not so odd.

Hopefully, I"ll be back to being more regular now that my guests have returned home.

geeess... thats sounds like a mess. I'm glad things are worked out now. It will all be worth it when its finished!

Not trying to be a "debbie downer" but this so reminds me of the movie "Money Pit". Tom Hanks and Shelly Long were always being told "two weeks".:rotfl:

I don't think anything involving contractors is ever done on time.

sorry about the added time....

thanks, but it will be ok. Actually, it will be an adventure to see if the toilet or tub is the best place to wash dishes.

I'm going to be so sick of food cooked in a microwave, that the worst meal in disney will be like heaven.

Oh, and I get to hang out at the laundromat.:thumbsup2

My life gets more exciting by the minute.:rotfl2:

Oh wow. I still can't believe she did that. I agree with whoever said that ya'll should appoint someone for the contractors to speak to and not MIL. Or maybe they could call you if they have any questions.

Are the kiddo's staying with her while ya'll are in WDW?
