Glad there is a GP discount out, but when does everyone think we will see AP discounts for the summer months ?
I called this morning about the YW3 code for the end of August and mentioned to the CM that we're booking that as there aren't any AP codes out which I said was surprising.
She said hold on, looked in her computer, and applied a rate that she said was an AP discount. Sorry, I didn't get the code she used.
Maybe give a call in and see what they say.
After seeing your post, I just now called back and had another CM check and she too came back and said there were no AP codes in the system yet and they had no idea when or even if AP codes were coming out for late spring-early summer.
oooh! why can't all the CMs see the same codes on their screens? I also had both CMs check to see if I had a PIN attached to my acc't, but both said no.
I was hoping they were just cutting back on the number of discount rooms available, but it looks like they are going back to the old style of discounts only when they need to fill rooms.
The question for me is Do I wait and see on an AP discount, or do I suck it up and use AAA?
I asked the CM if those were the rates with the YW3, she said no, that the AP rate was a better deal. Again, sorry I didn't get a code to go with that.
I may be modify my dates/resorts, so if I do call back in, I will try to get the code they are using.

Agreed - that's what I just did for an October stay. I got 15% off POFQ - not too shabby. Then if I get a better AP rate, it's gravy. Otherwise, I'm going anyway. (And I justified the AP purchase with the TiW and going to Victoria & Albert, so I wasn't counting on an AP discount. Sure would be nice, though!I'm not surprised - Disney is a business out to make a profit, not to subsidize our vacations. If they can get someone to pay full price, they will. If not, then they will discount the rooms in order to fill them. It does make planning a vacation far in advance difficult sometimes from a budgeting standpoint, especially if you can't be flexible about your dates. I can remember many years of booking AP discounts around three months out, because that's all the farther they would release them.
If I were you, I would at least book AAA, so you have some sort of discount. But make sure you are getting a rate you are willing to pay if no other discounts show up. I've read a lot of threads where people have booked a room anticipating a discount, and then are angry at Disney when they have to downgrade or cancel when no discount is forthcoming. I think people are much happier when they've booked a vacation they can afford, and then a code comes out and they can either save money or upgrade for the same cost.
