When will the full menus come back??

I've seen so many posts about the new "limited" menus for the free dining. My question is: when will the "complete" menus return, if ever?

I know Sept 30 is the last check-in day for free dining, so by the time we get there Oct 7, only a handful of free DDP-ers should be left. (No DDP for us-- we have AP/DDE.) Will the full menus be back by then? Or, will they at least add a few more things?

If anyone has any insight on this, please post!

TIA! :)

We arrive on the 3rd and I am wondering the same thing. DH is joining us for the first time in years - all he cares about is ts dining. I am hoping menus will be back to normal.

The answer is...nobody knows.

Nobody is exactly sure if the menu changes were JUST to save some cost during free dining, because of the popularity of the DDP in general, or something else.

We'll all just have to wait and see....

My guess is that due to (i) the popularity of the DDP, generally, and (ii) the fact that businesses rarely provide more once they find out they can get away with providing less, some of the menu changes we're seeing will end up being permanent ones. It's a shame, really.

But, WDW execs no doubt know what they are doing and what the fall-out will be. They'll hope to get more people to come, eat in the theme park restaurants and not leave WDW property to go elsewhere (like Universal or Sea World). In return, they'll have to give up customers like us who go to WDW looking for great dining experiences. It seems like a trade-off WDW is ready and willing to make.

Gosh... I thought Disney was selling itself as more than just theme-parks, but a place for finer dining options as well! That's certainly one of my interests in Disney... just look at all the people they bring in for F&W! I would imagine that crowd would be very disappointed by a downturn in the restaurants.

Oooo... *idea* maybe because F&W is starting the end of Sept they WILL bring back some of the "finer" dining menu options back! :woohoo:
