When will the California letters come down...and what other refurbishments

We might take my sister's family with us to DL/Grand Canyon this year. We they get to see the Big California Letters in front of DCA, will Mickey's Fun Wheel be up yet, and what other refurbs have you heard for late May early June?

Well I'm not too sure about the California letters coming down, Mickey's Fun Wheel is scheduled to open April 24, 2009. And the new boardwalk games are scheduled to open the same day.

That's pretty much it, I think.

I am crossing my fingers and REALLY hoping that the letters are still there for our trip in Sept. Our last name starts with an "O" and my parents' last name starts with an "R" so the last time we were there, we took family pics in front of our respective letters. We had DD at the time but didn't have DS so I would really like to get a picture with the four of us in front of the "O" before it is gone.

YIKES!! I didn't know they were taking the letters down! I figured those would be safe as it would be a huge mess to put up walls and have all that noise right there in front of the entrance. Any links about this?

This is a bummer I didnt realize the letters were going down...
My dance team has been selected to perform in Disneyland and June and its just going to be me and my mom and we were excited to get our picture on the letters...

I think the letters would be in the way of the new enterance they have planned. I thought I read somewhere they were going to move the DCA entrance during this to somewhere else.

They will close off that whole entrance and it'll be moved down further into DTD. There are huge gates right before the GCH where guests will enter instead. At least that is what I have gathered from reading...so taking down the letters wont be an issue. Also I am sure they could do this at night while no guests are present if they really wanted to.

I am hoping the sun wheel opens back up on time! Does anyone have a date as to when the maliboomer goes down? It was close in dec due to heavy rains and I love that ride
