When will AKV models at SSR be ready?

DH and I were thinking about sneaking a peek at these on our March trip; even though we're not quite ready for that add-on yet. But as DVC members, we're always considering it.....

Does anyone know when they'll be ready to tour?

the guides still aren't even allowed to see them. (I don't know if someone is not happy - or they are just being really secretive)

but if the start sales in March - they have got to allow us to see something.

There have been no "official" announcements about AKV at all except that it is the next planned DVC resort. Certainly no announcement about when sales might begin have been forthcoming.

I expect that one of the rooms under rehab at AK right now would be used as an onsite model (just like the villas used for that purpose at VWL and BCV while they were being sold and now at SSR. It's very possible that the ONLY actual models would be at AK and the SSR sales center would only have a virtual tour just like they do for the other resorts now.

I would not make any plans to tour the AKV models just yet.

As noted, there's nothing official. I think 1 March is a reasonable expectation but could be a little earlier or later though not likely much later. I would expect the open door to the model units to correspond with day 1 of sales.

And perhaps there will be pictures of the models on the DVC website shortly before sales start.

That is the way it was done for BCV. Very shortly before sales opened, we were able to see them online. Sales started on a Sunday and it may have been Friday night or Saturday night that I was able to see them. But it was before Sunday am when we were called by our guide.

I think that the models will be at both SSR and AKV - just because my guide claims there is a couple of rooms that no one is allowed in and they have darken the windows - so you can't even peak at SSR.

Whoever gets there first, whenever the models open, better get right here and post those pics!

I think BCV23 is right - before they showed us the rooms they showed an artist drawing on the internet first.
