When will akl be renovated

I’ve searched extensively but can’t find the answer, any insight when akl will undergo room renovations?

I may plan a sept 2024 stay at akl but the rooms are so long in the tooth

Just take this as a general guideline, not a fixed schedule - for instance, VGF and Poly both jumped ahead of BRV in 2022 even though BRV was in much more significant need of a refurb.

No, they generally don’t announce very far in advance, they simply block rooms from being booked. The BWV refurb has not been announced but dates have been inferred based on availability.

And some resorts/views they may be able to do this somewhat invisibly.

Jambo Concierge/Value will like entirely disappear for a bit like BW/SV views did at BWV, which may be the best signal of the refurb.

But the other Jambo categories (and all of Kidani) could conceivably be done in such a way that we have no clear signal, just "oh, that booked up faster than expected".

But at least AKL refurb will probably be easier to spot than SSR Treehouses...SSR Treehouses might be the hardest of all to spot considering they almost never book up during the 11m - 7m window.

Akl is a great resort but those rooms are really rough. The sleeper sofa is just awful to sleep on unless you enjoy a metal bar across your backside

I think that’s true of all the DVC sofa beds, probably the reason DVC management promised to replace them all (wherever possible - sometimes configuration of walls or ceilings prevents it).

Honestly that’s what made our decision to buy Polynesian over AKL points. My son who literally will sleep on anything, and slept on every couch bed before the pull downs- can’t sleep on the sofa beds at AKL. And it is our favorite resort. They are the absolute worst. They squeak horribly keeping us awake all night as well as him. We’ve tried twice thinking it was a fluke and he made me promise no more until a refurb. I don’t get it because he has had no problem at beach club, BLT, copper creek- no problem.

I also love the ceiling fans at AKV and don’t mind the decor or shape of the rooms. I do hope they get the pull down bed but I actually slept on the AKV sofa bed a couple weeks ago and slept surprisingly well!

I just hope they don’t change the look and feel too much with the refurb. I really love the dark woods and how themed it is. I’m worried it’s going to be white and sterile after the update.
