July 4, 2017, kick off Independence Day and show off your red, white and blue spirit by decorating a bicycle, wagon, dog or kids for a fun-filled parade around Harbour Town. Meet at the parking lot adjacent to the Harbour Town Lighthouse at 8:30 a.m. to register and pick up decorating supplies. Parade line-up begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. and entries will be judged on patriotism. Supplies limited to first 100 registered. Holiday fun and activities to follow. Tuesdays: Hilton Head Island’s signature summer event, HarbourFest, returns to Shelter Cove Harbour featuring live entertainment by Shannon Tanner twice a night, plus Cappy the Clown, arts, crafts, and game vendors and unforgettable food, along with Tuesday Night Fireworks beginning June 13, 2017.

Family-friendly entertainer, Shannon Tanner, returns for his 29th season, performing two shows at 6:30 and 8 p.m. Monday-Friday, starting Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-28, and continuing through Monday, Sept. 4, 2017. Wednesdays: Junior Sailing Camp at Commander Zodiac in South Beach Marina Village. A four-hour course taught on an AMF Sunfish and Hobie Waves designed for ages 7-16, with or without sailing experience. Includes boat and water safety, rigging, tacking and more. This course is a wonderful way for the young sailor to learn about the water, weather and tides while becoming comfortable and proficient handling their boat. The movies will show every Thursday night at 9 p.m. from June 15-August 17, 2017.

Thanks so much Doc. There's a person on the DVC Mouselaneous board who wanted to know about alligator tours. No one knew about one until you posted about one here. This information is always useful. And by the way, DH always thanks you every year for letting him know about the Island Rec Center's Turkey Trot, called the Piggly Wiggly Turkey Trot when DH first ran it.
