Mondays: Give your kids a true Lowcountry experience at one of Outside’s Kids Camps! Starting June 10th and throughout the Summer, Outside will offer a variety of camps designed for young adventurers, aged 7 and up. All programs give kids the opportunity to get wet and have fun, under the watchful eye of Outside’s trained professional guide-counselors. Offerings include: Surf Camp, a 90 minute learn-to-surf program; Coastal Carolina Camp, a 2 day marsh exploration camp complete with kayaking; Kids Waterfun Day, 3-hours of on-the-water games in Broad Creek; Adventure Island, a chance for older kids to go boating and explore remote Page Island; and our Teen Stand Up Adventure which introduces teens to the fun, hip sport of paddleboarding. Ongoing: Learn how to play Pickleball, the fastest growing sport in the country, with daily clinics and round robins at the Palmetto Dunes Pickleball Center in Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort. Pickleball is a sport that combines the elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong. It is played with oversized ping pong paddles and a softball-sized plastic perforated ball that travels at about one-third the speed of a tennis ball. Courts and equipment available to rent. August 1- 2: Legally Blonde Dance and Drama Camp! Play your part this summer at the Arts Center! During this exciting week, students will learn a variety of dance and drama techniques while working with the Dance Captain of the Arts Center’s summer production Legally Blonde. The musical is based on the hit 2001 comedy film about a pampered, cosmetics-minded Bel Air girl named Elle, who chases her ex-beau to Harvard’s law school and finds herself excelling in academia. *Intermediate dance skills required. August 2 -16: Join us every Friday night through August 16th, 7-10 p.m. on the banks of Broad Creek for a picnic and a sunset serenade at the pavilion in Shelter Cove Community Park. Bring a beach chair, blanket, and pick up take-out from one of our local merchants. Sunset Celebration, featuring live local music and laid-back family entertainment, is brought to you every Friday each summer by the merchants of Shelter Cove Towne Centre. Admission is free and feel free to bring you pup!

Our mission at Hilton Head Heroes is to bring families with children between the ages of four and eighteen suffering from life threatening illnesses to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for a resort vacation.

Mondays: Immerse yourself in the fascinating Civil War history of Hilton Head Island with a visit to Fort Mitchel. The site contains the remains of a coastal defense battery erected in 1862 to protect the Port Royal Sound by way of Skull Creek from incursions by Confederate gunboats based in the Savannah River. Costumed characters and an expert tour guide will demonstrate the vital historic importance of this place and the role the fort and its namesake, General Mitchel, played in shaping Hilton Head history, including historic Mitchelville. August 6: Palmetto Bluff Concert: Join us for three hot summer nights at the Crossroads in Moreland Village. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. Concert begins at 6:30 p.m. $25 per car (load ’em up!) at the gate. Proceeds benefit , whose mission is to provide temporary shelter, family stability and permanent housing solutions for homeless families with children by mobilizing community resources.

August 7, 14and 21: The PALMETTO DUNES TURTLE TROT 5K is a weekly 5 kilometer run/walk taking place in beautiful Palmetto Dunes Resort. These family‐friendly run/walk events consists of two courses: 1) a beach course for weeks with a low tide – and, 2) a road course for weeks with a high tide. Both routes feature some of the best Palmetto Dunes has to offer by leading participants over our sand, under our tree canopy, and along our lagoon and lakes.

Race proceeds benefit the Palmetto Dunes Cares Fund, a charitable giving initiative targeting the areas of health, environment, arts and culture, community development, and education within the greater Hilton Head area.

Inclement weather plan – Safety for our participants, volunteers, and staff is our number #1 concern. Any decision we make regarding the production or cancellation of the event will be made with their interest first and foremost. If mother nature does not cooperate on race morning – we will delay the event until the conditions are safe – this delay will continue for a reasonable amount of time until we deem it necessary to cancel the event.

Palmetto Dunes’ summer race series has started its second season!

August 8,9,10 & 11: Bluffton Youth Theater presents The Wizard of OZ .Join Dorothy Gale and her dog Toto as they journey down the Yellow Brick Road through the Merry Old Land of Oz! They will meet some unusual character as they travel to meet the Wizard and along the way Dorothy will be reminded that there truly is no place like home. $15 for adults/ $12 for children (12 and under). Thursday August 8th at 7 p.m. Friday, August 9th at 7 p.m. Saturday, August 10th at 2 p.m. Sunday August 11th at 3 p.m. .

August 15: 4th Annual Keep Broad Creek Clean Festival: Get the kids outside to learn about the importance of clean water! For the fourth year, The Outside Foundation will host the Keep the Broad Creek Clean Festival in Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina. The event schedule includes a kayak-based clean-up from 3-5 p.m., festival from 4-7 p.m. with live musical performances by Jevon Daly at 4 p.m. and Shannon Tanner at 7 p.m. The festival will feature exhibits, activities, crafts, and demonstrations presented by local non-profits and agencies. A highlight of the 2019 festival will be jellyfish lantern making with the Town of Hilton Head Office of Cultural Affairs. Additional exhibitors include The Coastal Conservation League, i2 Recycle, the Mermaid of Hilton Head, Turtle Trackers, the Coastal Discovery Museum, The Port Royal Sound Foundation, Spartina Dolphin & Turtle Stranding Response, the Beaufort Conservation District, Waddell Mariculture Center, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, the Lowcountry Master Naturalists and Carolina Clear. All events and activities are free and open to the public and every attendee gets an entry into a raffle for fun prizes.

Kayak Reservations

As you are aware, Waterside is down the road from Coligny. Can you please tell me more about the Dueling Pianos and where exactly is this located?

Thanks so much for the information! I'll be anxiously awaiting when you get to November. Thanks to you, DH has done many years of the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, starting back when it was the Piggly Wiggly Turkey Trot.
 
Does anyone have an activities sheet from the resort for any week in August? I'm trying to give my family an idea of what will be available to do as far as activities/happenings.
