When to start asking about AAA discount for room only for Feb 2015?

I am in the midst of planning my honeymoon and want to book a room only reservation at the AKL for Feb 2015 in a few weeks. I know that I probably have to pay the regular rate now. I was wondering when should I start calling to ask if there is a AAA discount for the savanna room available?

The general public offers will be far better than any AAA discount. At first AAA may see a bit less but once a general public offer comes out it is typically a much better deal.

You also have to see if Disney renews the discount option with AAA for 2015 dates.

Disney packages for 2015 will likely be released in June. Room only can be done 499 days in advance. But 2015 rates will not be guaranteed this early.

I was going to say the same thing. Disney said they severed their partnership with AAA earlier this year so I'm not sure there will be a discount next year through them.

Okay thanks for the info. I guess I will just have to keep my eyes peeled for any public offers then! Since we are going Presidents Day weekend/week, I know discounts may be nonexistent. A girl can dream though!

If it were me I'd keep an eye out for when Disney announces the rates for 2015, and call around then.
I really don't know what the situation is with Disney and AAA. I do know that at the beginning of this there were tons of rumors that the AAA room only rate was gone. I ignored them and called, got a AAA rate for our fall trip.
If Disney offers a discount, I'll switch to it. I've had years where I couldn't get the Disney rate for our entire trip, so I've split it. We've had a couple of days at 15% (AAA room only) and the rest at 30-35% discount. It's worth it to me to book this way.
