When to reserve President's week

We're considering the possibility of trying our first trip to the Fort over President's Day week next February. When I went to price out the stay, however, I found that reservations are only available through 12/31/12. How early will I be able to make reservations, and how far ahead will it fill up?

Call the reservation number now, today. You can make a room only {site only} reservation 499 days in advance of your stay and pay only 1 nights fee to lock in the dates. They haven't released prices for next year yet is why you can't price it, but if you call you can make the ressie now. They'll let you know all this about the pricing, but they'll update your reservation with the right price when they lock in next year's rates.

An on-line reservation can only be made for the current year.

A telephone reservation can be made 499 days in advance.

I don't know why the two are different.

The telephone ressie will be at the 2012 rack rate (so will the deposit) until rates are set this summer for the following year (which is when you can make an on-line ressie). Then your ressie will be automatically adjusted (hint: prices aren't going down).

Last year they set the next year's rates around June. The previous two years before that it had been done in August. AAA discounts are available to be applied to existing reservations once the new rates are set. You can get 5-15% off usually. Any other discounts can be applied once they become available.

That time around President's Day (this week next year) are very busy due I think to New Jersey week. Whenever you know your travel dates go ahead and call in a ressie.
