When to request my room preferences and what should I request for Pop Century!

I will be arriving Aug 6-8 at Pop Century. When should I send in my request and what do you suggest I request?

I booked a standard room in the 70's, but I'm open to any decade. The two rooms that were booked will be occupied by adults (with small children) that are in thier early 30's- the adults of course. We were all born in early 70's. Help!!!!

You can call and have your requests noted in your reservation. We prefer to let the CM's work a little magic when we check in. All we usually ask for ahead of time is no smoking.

My vote goes either to the 50s or the 70s. They're both really close to the action and have fun themeing. I've heard that you can also see some of the fireworks from the 50s building, although I was never in my room early enough to see for sure. But with whatever building you get, you'll be super happy! Pop is great!!!

I'm also checking into PC on August 6. I usually just call and have them add my request to my reservation, but I haven't done it this time (I only made the reservation 1 week ago - this is a spur-of-the-moment trip). I'm thinking about requesting the 70's also, but haven't really decided if I will or will just wait until I get there. From what I've read on the FAQ it doesn't really make much difference which building you get, so just go with the decade you like best. Whatever you decide, have fun!

Once in the 50's... Twice in the 70's. I liked the 70's better. Of all of the buildings the 60's and the 70's are the closest to the main building. The other decades are a farther walk but tend to be a bit quieter. I found parking to be a problem in the evening and often parked far from the room. I guess thats the tradeoff for not using Disney transportation.
