Thank you. We're, I, want to pay off everything I can in advance with our taxes, but hubby is putting up a fight about the tickets. He's scared we could lose them. I'm going to go ahead and get them now.
and are sure you are going to go, I would buy them pretty early. Last year (I think) the price went up earlier than some expected. UT had some tickets available at the old price. They sent out an email about those tickets and their fulfillment time was reportedly over three weeks. We have usually gotten ours in about three days under normal conditions.
I buy them way in advance and the keep them in our safety deposit box. Although I pulled them out to enter them into MDE, and now they are in my Disney planning folder.
Thanks! Follow-up question: We will be using APs (discounted due to DVC membership) on our next trip in September. Our last APs have expired so we will be buying new ones. I'd like to beat the price increase and go ahead and buy them (the AP vouchers). I know that normally the year won't start to run until I exchange the vouchers for tickets. But will I be able to use the vouchers to be able to make FP+ reservations prior to starting the trip and activating them as tickets? We are staying on property and already have our reservations for that.
Does that make sense? Sorry if I am asking this in the wrong place.

Take a photo of the back of each card. As long as you have the code numbers the tickets can be replaced. Store them in a safe place and you will be fine.
a good idea to take a photo or photocopy of the back of your ticket. I have misplaced a ticket before. With the ticket number Disney can get you a new one (and void your old) pretty easily. UT also keeps your ticket numbers in their system. It is an added safety measure in case you lose your tickets and your backup.
