I know I've read this on 100s of threads but can someone remind me when it's best to phone/email (both?) HNY about rooms etc? something tells me it's either 5 or 7 days before arrival - better earlier or later? I know it's something to do with when they allocate the rooms but I can't work out whether it's best for them to have the info before they all. the rooms so they can bear iot in mind or after so they can see if it fits in.
On the same subject I know I need to double check interconnecting rooms & non-smoking, should I ask for a kettle at the same time or wait until arrival?
Most important of all I know they have listed on their system that it's our anniversary after we come back (and shall probably throw in my Sep birthday and my son getting his exam results a few days before!) While I would like to ask for a room near to reception or ground floor if we're lucky enough to have any extra magic sprinkled on us, would this request stop us getting a better room e.g (aiming high!) are the Empire state club rooms all on a higher floor?!
