When to panic

OK... long story short. My DH was freaking out because we had not received our confirmation and stuff for our March 25 WDW vacation. (They say about 40 days out... which is what we are). Then, yesterday, an envelope came and he freaked out even more because it only had a confirmation letter and a payment envelope in it. (I think he was expecting tickets and stuff). To make matters worse, the letter had a full balance still due though we've already paid in full -- and that is correctly reflected online.

So basically, what I need to know -- to ease his mind -- is should we expect to receive anything else before we leave or is this all we'll get until we arrive?

Thanks
CAM

It seemed like in the last month or so before my Disney vacation last September, I was getting a different set of documents each week. Also, if you are using DME, you probably won't get your yellow luggage tags until about the 5th of March or so. I got mine about 20 days out.

I am sure you will get a few more letters from Disney and there's no need to panic quite yet!!

Just call Disney and ask them! That way they can verify that you are paid in full and they can let you know when to expect your tickets and other things.

I call them almost everyday leading up to a trip. I always have some question and I just love being told to have a "Magical Day"

I would call Disney and give them my confirmation number. They will be more than happy to look up your information and make any changes if they need to be changed. They'll let you know when you should expect to get your other info. You may not receive your tickets until you arrive at Disney. My mother and sister received their at check-in.

Tickets if you are on a package will be given to you on your room keys when you check in. If you purchased the dining plan, it should say so on your confirmation and will also be on your room keys. Definitely call Disney Travel (assuming that this is who you booked your trip through) about the balance due..don't wait.

If there's a problem and they need to adjust your reservation, then you should get corrected information in the mail. Otherwise, what you have is your confirmation.

Okay, this is very similar to what happened to me. Here was the story: the reservationists showed me as 100% paid, but I kept getting letters saying I owed money. But I didn't owe money, I was fully paid. Finally I was referred up the chain and I was told there is a "front office" system that the reservationists have access to, which correctly said I had paid, but the "back office" system, which only the managers have access to, which showed the payment but somehow hadn't credited the payment. The letters saying I owed money were generated using the "back office" info, which wasn't fully correct. I'm glad I straightened it out ahead of time or I might have had to waste vacation time dealing with it at the resort check in.

So, I recommend you call Disney but don't just take the reservationist's word about what their system shows, because they don't have full access to the "back office" system info. Insist on speaking to a manager. Get the manager's name and ask the manager to send you a letter confirming that you are fully paid, and take it with you in case there is a problem.
