When to make PS's

What are the rules for making dining reservations. how far in advance? etc.

The sooner the better is my advice, I'm not sure when you're going, but always be on the safe side with PS, especially when it comes to the nicer restaurants, and character meals.....

The earliest you can make PS is 90 days prior to the day you want to eat there. There are advance reservations for dinner shows (HDDR, Luau) and I believe also V&A's.

according to your counter, you still have plenty of time. I would spend this time researching the restaurants, peruse the menus on allears.net & make up a plan (with a plan B, just in case) and be prepared to call WDW-DINE 90 days ahead of your trip.
