When to inquire about a birthday bucket?

We'll be celebrating my daughter's 4th birthday with a lunch at Ariel's Grotto on May 11th. I keep reading that we should check with the restaurant to guarantee that they will have a birthday bucket available.

How far in advance should I call?

Well I think now they only have the pirate or princess treasure chests, not the bucket style, anymore. I know at Wine Country Trattoria they had a cart showing them and the other things you can get, just beyond the check-in area, so I imagine they could just grab one for you.

That said, I would order one when you make your PS, if that's allowed, or call now if you've already made your PS, just to be sure.

When we did one for DDs bday I ordered it when I made our PS. It was delivered when we were finished eating.

Thank you. I made our PS a few weeks ago so I guess I'll just call again. The CM when I called for the PS was not very pleasant and I wanted to tell her that we would be celebrating a birthday but I had already got the impression that I was bothering her.

Does anyone know what's in the pirate one? We'll be having dinner at GK for my son's 11 birthday. Wondering if it's more for smaller kids. We already have our PS but I could call back and see if I could add it too.

We are going to DL next week and will be celebrating our DD and DS' birthdays. I ordered their personalized cakes and pirate treasure chest/princess jewelry box about 2 months ago. I don't think you need to reserve them that early. I believe I was told that you can even ask for them the day of! I would post the link, but am unable to because I have less than 10 posts...so if you go to the DL website and click on "Special Occasions" and then click on "Birthdays" and it will give you more information. (Only certain places offer these cakes/gifts. Just ask them and they'll tell you which ones).

Also, FYI - they also offer goodie bags for your birthday guests.
