Hi guys, i would be very grateful for any help and advice you could give me. i am (and have been for the past 8 months!!!) planning a family trip to Florida for 8 of us. we are going Sat 9th - sat 23rd April 2011 and satying in a villa in formosa gardens.

i have now deceided that 2 weeks isn't long enough and would like to go for an extra week (there will only be 4 of us then) but i can't deceide/don't know whether it will be better to go on 2nd April - 23rd April or 9th April - 30th April. Easter Sunday is 24th April and i know Spring Break will be some where aorund then

does anyone know traditionally when it is busier over Easter, we are going to stay in a Disney hotel for the extra week

hope that makes sense and thanks fro your help

Easter is very busy over the Easter weekend and the week after. Never been week before as we always fly out Easter Saturday (Sunday this year)
Our 1st week is always crazy lines, 2nd week better.
If I was you I would aim to leave 23rd rather than 30th, leaving the 30th your last week would be definitely busy.

thank you, that means my holiday could just have been brought forward by a whole week :cool1::banana::cool1:

Oops! Reread ops dates and realised it refers to 2011 not 2010! :goodvibes

I know from what I have read that Easter is the busiest time so I would avoid the main Easter weekend if it falls in the dates you mentioned.

thanks for your reply, that is pretty much what i thought so we will probbly go the first 3 weeks of April :yay:

We went at Easter this year, the crowds at the parks were very heavy for about 3 days approaching the build up to Easter Sunday weekend.
As we get to the parks early that did help in avoiding the worst of the queue's. I can't remember if we visited the parks at the weekend. :)
I think Wednesday, Thursday and Friday just absolutley crammed, Magic Kingdom reached capacity on I think the Thursday.
Apart from that they weren't too bad and it didn't have a damaging impact on the overall holiday.
We do have a GAC card for Joshua's disabilities so to be honest longer lines in some ways would not affect us as much as others, especially as the weather was just perfect.

However, if you have a choice of weeks it makes sense to avoid Easter if you are able to.

thanks for your reply, sounds like a good idea to stay clear of the park on the Easter weekend. glad you had a nice time xx
