When to go in September with less crowds?

Hi!

In our area, kids are going back to school on September 1. I am wondering if Aug31-Sept 4, Sept 7-11, or Sept 14-18 would be least crowded. I will be traveling with a toddler so I want to avoid long lines. I wonder if the Aladdin show will be playing then.

How are the crowds around the expo and HM 40?

Sorry I can't help....we are trying figure out the same thing. We are debating on going the 10th-13th or the 17th-20th. I am worried about how crowded it might be with the Expo. I have both sets of dates booked and am going to cancel one as it gets closer.

Avoid anything near Labor day, which is late this year--its the 7th...

I actually wouldn't go before Labor day, as some schools don't start up until that week before... I dunno, I would guess it will still be busy! But, I really try to avoid peak times.

I'd go as late in the month as you can, if it were me--school will be back in session, and no holidays to bring out extra people within driving distance...

A number of school districts will start school following Labor Day weekend. There are also several districts that start a week to two before.

We are going 9/11-16. I know its in the middle of expo, but we are hitting DHs and my mom's bday on the trip. Expo is over by the 13th so we should be okay.

The later in the month the better. We usually go around the 21st for a 5 day trip and it's the 'deadest' DL has ever been for us (we've been Dec, April & Sept).

We're trying to figure out when to go this Sept because that D23 thing is going on (I think the 13-16?), the DL marathon is going on (last time we were woken up at like 6am with loudspeaker UGH).

What's the HM 40 and expo - and their dates?

Also, anyone know when the Halloween decor goes up? It seems to always go up like 2 days after we leave - but I hear once it's up crowds go up too. I'm trying to decide whether we care enough about halloween decor to work around that LOL.

The D23 Expo is Sept 10th-13th.

Sept 14-17th is homeschooling convention at Disneyland. I don't know if I will be going or not. I would love to go, but I am trying to save to go on my birthday in November.

We are going Sept 19-26. I read recently on mousesavers.com that the Halloween times will start on the 26th. I am thinking we may see some decorations but avoid the crowds. Also, there is something taking place around the beginning of our trip (HoJo is booked and Disneyland Hotel is booked) but I am not sure what it is.

Does anyone else know what is happening around Sept 19, 20th??

we went last september 29th and 30th (a monday and tuesday), hoping for non-busy days in the park.
