When to go in November 2023 from east coast?

I was wondering if going the 3rd week in November is a good idea coming from the east coast. I can pick fights that fly the southern routes to try and avoid any storms in the north happening then. I really want to see everything Christmas at DLR has to offer. I'm not a ride person and will have an ECV because my knees are bad from falling down a flight of stairs in high school in 1992. I will have physical therapy beforehand. I have a reservation for Nov. 6th-10th at a hotel nearby, but can change that. I have free cancellation. Has anybody done this and regretted flying cross country because of a storm and getting delayed? Or would you do it because you really wanted to go to see all the Christmas stuff? This will be a do-over trip for me because I got heat stroke in 2019 when I went for the 1st time and spent most of my time in bed at the hotel. I saw absolutely nothing but a pretzel cart in Frontierland as I got sicker waiting for the people I was with to come back to where I was. I couldn't see the castle because of the way the sun was blinding me on the way into Frontierland. This is why I decided on November for the cooler weather. Any help with this would be great. This will probably the last time I get to go to DLR anytime soon. Probably I won't get to go back. I'll be almost 50 and want this to be my birthday trip. My mom passed away in October 2022 and left me a little money to do something Disney. She knew how much I wanted to go and made me promise to go no matter what. I was going to go on a DCL cruise but decided to do DLR because I wanted to do DLR more. Like I said any help would be great. Thanks so much.

Holiday time at Disneyland usually starts the second Friday in November so you're going to want to be here on November 10th. If you want to enjoy more holiday time, then come the week after your current reservations, so Nov 13-17.

Weather is nice

Early November in Anaheim can be quite warm. Look at historical data—mid-November has seen highs in the 80s or even around 90. With concerns about heat plus wanting to see holiday decor, I would push the trip farther into November (though not Thanksgiving week!).

I went on November 3, 2018 and it was 100 degrees. The week after Thanksgiving has been historically fairly slow and you have a better chance of lower temps. Maybe with first park day 11/28. Definitely avoid Veteran’s Day weekend.

Given the nature of this trip I would definitely want to be there for Christmas time, which will not likely be up the 6-10. I would suggest avoiding the first day of Christmas time, which is typically Veterans Day weekend.

i hope you are able to feel your moms love and presence whenever you decide to go.

Thanks for all the advice. I think I'm going to chance any storms and go the 1st week in December. The weather will be better and not too hot for me. I'm from Massachusetts so I'm used to cooler weather so barring snow in southern California I should be fine. 😄 Even snow I can handle. 😉 I can take warm weather but I went when there was a heat wave and extremely humid weather. Massachusetts is really hot in the summer. Heat index of 104 degrees most days. Does anybody think there's a chance DLR would have a Christmas Party in 2023. I would definitely pay for that. I'm hoping they will do Merriest Nites again. If they don't I'm totally fine with just the regular Holiday stuff though. I did find flights going the southern route through an Atlanta layover. I just hope and pray there are no storms when I go. Well I am getting travel insurance so I'll be covered to go a different time if there are storms shutting down airports. @chezcurrie I know my mom will be there in spirit and smiling down on me while I have fun. Thank you for that lovely statement. :smickey:
