When to find a spot to view MSEP?

How much earlier before the MSEP starts should one find a place to see it? We'll be going in September so it won't be super crowded. There will be about 14 of us. The MSEP is scheduled to start at 9. I hope to have an ADR at Ohana for an early dinner (around 5) and then return to the park in time to find a place for the parade. Am I crazy to try that?

Depends on how nice of a spot and if that's before Wishes. If it's before Wishes and on main street about an hour before. If it's the second run of the MSEP and after Wishes you can usually catch a good spot about 45-30 minutes before hand.

If you're in the area where you want to view the parade you can kinda play this by ear as you'll have a good sense of how quickly people are staking out positions on the sidewalk.

15 minutes before is right out!
