When to buy Air? (SWA or AirTran).......

We have ressies for BCV for 12/2-12/10. We can fly from Philly or Atlantic City. The dilemma is: SWA and AirTran do NOT have Dec dates up yet. Spirit (AC) does. Any suggestions as to when I should buy air here? Obviously i would luv to wait and get SWA low fares, but when will they post (I did subscribe to Ding)? I have flown AirTran before with good results as well. Help pleeze! Bob

If you dont mind flying Spirit, book when you find a good air fare. My last two trips I have waited till 2 months out (both on American Airlines), then got the deal and the times I wanted. Of course results can vary. What I would do would be to wait till SWA releasees the dates in December, and has one of those system wide specials. Of course you could be out of luck, and stuck with bad travel times or not getting a non stop flight. Just my opinion.

History does not always repeat itself with air, but that is the same time frame we went this past December. I got SW on a sail in October for $49 each way out of BWI.

I'd wait and keep checking for a lil! I know someone going in October who got $88 each way on Spirit but if you check there website it's like almost $400 roundtrip that's ridiculous! When you can always fly out of phila with southwest or airtran for $79 each way! Airtran maybe no so easy as southwest since they have been booking thru I thinkNovember but I know it's at least that! Possibly December already! When I called Southwest they told me they would have November up in July! I've been checking everyday! We usually fly Spirit out of AC and their rates are just ridiculous! I'll drive first!
Also check www.travelzoo.com I seen that on a thread here and they give you all the lowest airfares and specials at the current time! You can also download DING from Southwest and it will ding you every time there is a good special but you have to respond within so many hours! Very nice tool!
