Going on the Feb. 9th Magic, and was wondering when a good day of the Cruise to book the Sureal Bath? Any Suggestions?

I suggest booking the Surial Bath on Sunday... the first sea day. You'll be under a lot of stress for the last couple of days leading up to your departure... you'll start to relax once you're onboard, but you'll really know you're onboard when you get to reward yourself with this fun little exercise.

The other reason to do it early rather than later is that you won't want to be rubbing things on each other later in the week if you miscalculate with the sun and sunscreen and find yourself with a sunburn. Go early before you get fried.

We booked the Surial the second day of our four-day cruise. We tried to go to Nassau for the day, but our 4-yo paged us just as we walked off the gangplank. So we took him up to the pool to play for a few hours and I called the spa to see if we could get in. I called at 12:30 and was able to get a ressie for 4 that afternoon! It was a wonderful way to spend an hour together, and by that time our son was happy to go back to the club and even stayed there for dinner -- my vote is for sooner rather than later!

p.s. the great water pressure and the hot water in the shower is almost worth it alone!! Have fun!

I do agree with Dave about the sunburn thing. We booked the SB for the day after we were on Castaway Cay and I had forgotten to bring the sunscreen! Not a problem for me, but my husband burns very easily! He was even in the shade most of the time and still got burned on his neck and legs. So when we got into the SB, the hot steam coming from the floor really hurt him!

Also, one more warning: We were in the Surial ( btw, it's pronounced "Sir-rall"-rhymes with "sir-y'all"-not "sir-real"!!) at 9:30am and I hadn't eaten anything, nor had I had any water. Well, I have low blood pressure and between the lack of food and water and the intense heat, I almost passed out after about 30 minutes! I literally couldn't see , and my husband had to help me put my robe on and open the door to get out. Luckily, one of the staff happend to be right there and she caught me and sat me down. They called the medics and I was checked out and given water. They said my blood pressure was extra low and that I needed to lay down for 30 minutes. It was pretty bad! I think I "willed" myself into not passing out. In fact, the whole time I felt faint, I keep replaying "So you wanna be a hero kid, well woop de do" in my head!!

So, my experience wasn't so great! And to top it off, they still charged us FULL PRICE!!!

My advice, eat something and drink LOTS of water before you go!!

We just came back from the 7 day magic cruise. We did the Surial
bath and we did it on Wed. the day we went to St. Thomas. It was the only opening they had, but it worked out nice because we had to return to the ship by 5 and our appt. was at 6:00, we went right there after being on the beach and you shower first in there so it worked out nice. It was very relaxing, but a warning, the steam room gets really steamy, and they have these tiled areas where you can sit and there are shower heads all around, like above your head and near your shoulders and a little lower, they are supposed to spray and I guess massage you sorta, well when we were in there the sprays didnt exactly work very well. Me and my husband didnt quite figure them out. Ask the girl to show you how they work before she leaves. Oh and you will at one point look at each other covered in mud and totally crack up laughing. Thats the fun of it. Feels good afterwards, I especially liked the milk lotion that they had in there to put on afterwards, it was nice. 60.00 a bottle, a little pricey. Have fun!! princsdi1@aol.com

We had ours on our scheduled day at sea for the 4 day cruise. The only thing was our day at sea wound up being a day in Castaway Cay since we couldn't dock the day before and instead went to Freeport. We had ours for 5:00 pm and went right there from the island. It was very relaxing and fun after spending the day in the water snorkeling. I highly recommend it and will book one when we cruise again in October. We had so much fun and made such a mess of the room!
