When to book hotels for March 2009?

We will be in DL March 1-4, 2009.

Airfare - check
Royal Caribbean Cruise to Mexico - check
Reservations for Club 33 - in progress
Unreasonably Excited and Overplanned - check
Hotel - ?

Does anyone have a good sense of when I should book (we're thinking HoJo or the like). Do most places require payment up front?

You should be good to go to reserve the HOJO right now as I have a reservation there for May 2009 already.

We just booked our February 2009 hotel and package with Dreams Unlimited. I would not wait too long before you book.

We are going in March of 2009 as well, and we booked our rooms at Hojo March of this year .......Not that you should be so anal, but I think six months out is a good idea.......

I agree, book now!!! You have a better chance at a better rate the earlier you book. We have ressies (not at Hojos) for May 2009 already.

Eesh! I didn't know people were so on top of it. Just one question - do you have to put money down to book at most places (like HoJo)? I don't want to put too much on the credit card if I don't have to...and I'll have more money later.

no money down they just want a credit card number for a hold most wont charge you until 2 days before you stay and you can cancel anytime before that.
