When to book airfare from Dallas to Seatle for 7/13??

We are hoping to be able to go on the Alaskan cruise end of July 2013. Was thinking of staying at DL for a few nights before, since we just put in a DVC contract! However, flights for June 2013 are really $$$$. Any tips from the DISboards experts??

Wait until flights actually open up for booking for the end of July 2013 and see what the prices are then.

Here we go again. There are two rules for booking airfare...

1) Book when you are happy with the price.
2) Don't compare prices once you book if you'll be upset. (unless flying SW or Jetblue which offer credits for lower priced seats)

There is no "magic" bullet time frame (ie: 3 months out, 6 weeks out, 11 months out, etc) that will guarantee you the cheapest seat.

The last two times I've booked airfare, I've book about 10-10.5 months out and the prices never got that low again (yes, I broke rule #2).
