When to arrive at airport

We have a 7 a.m. flight that departs from Buffalo airport. Since the aiport is much smaller than Pearson I was wondering what time we should arrive in the morning?

They usually want you to be there 2 hours ahead of time even though yours will essentially be a domestic flight. So 5AM it is.

We usually arrive at the buffalo airport around 5-5;15AM for a 7am flight.

FYI - most airline check in counters in Buffalo do not open until 5 a.m. (southwest, delta...), so don't aim to show up before!

Nothing in the Buffalo airport opens until 5am!!!! Which means those early bird flights have long lines However they really move you along so the wait is nothing like in Toronto!!!!

The Southwest website says you should arrive 1.5 hours early for a flight leaving from Buffalo.

Our flight leaves at 7:45am...early morning flights definately have their advantages and disadvantages!

We do online check-in and only take carry-ons bags, so no checked bags to line up for. We arrive at the airport 90 minutes prior to flight time. We park, shuttle, thru security in about 30 minutes. Boarding time is about 25-30 minutes prior to flight time, so we usually sit around the gate about 30 minutes. S

Yes, the early morning flights at the Buffalo airport have really long line ups to get through security. They do have airline staffers floating around asking people what time their flights are and they will pull them from the line and bring them up front of the line. But that's only if the passenger is really cutting it close and the airline staffers don't think they will get through the line in time.

I agree with 5am for a 7am flight. We always still go with the 2 hours in advance. I would much rather arrive too early that be stressed about the time and missing my flight. We have a 90 minute drive, without traffic, from home to BUF. We always leave home 4 hours before the flight time. I would guess that 95% of the time we are through the airport and waiting at the gate with at least 2 hours to spare. Gotta love BUF
