When Southwest opens dates next week--what price are you hoping for?

So, I'll be sitting by the computer Tuesday waiting for the next Southwest release. Anyone else? What rates are you hoping for? (I realize this will be different for everyone, since we all fly out of different cities/go different dates.) 3 years ago I snagged Spring Break flights for my family of 4 MCI-MCO for $486 r/t total. :goodvibes It would be great to see rates like that again, though I'm thinking it's unlikely. I'll be looking at departures from Omaha, Kansas City, Tulsa, Little Rock and maybe even Dallas. (We have a larger family group going this time from multiple cities.) Good luck to all!!

We fly SWA out of Omaha, and I always think the fares aren't to great for Orlando. You would think it wouldn't be bad being in the middle of the country, but it is! Nice to see someone from this neck of the woods, but I for one am not a Husker fan :)

I'm going to try and pretend you didn't say that part about not being a Husker fan. LOL Yeah, when we lived in NE we used to fly out of Omaha as well, prices weren't great, but better than Sioux City. My family that's still up north may drive all the way to KC if the deals are right! Plus, the nonstop flight was awesome. Comparing that to smaller airports where you have connections and layovers (and the ticket prices are higher)....you may as well drive a bit and save some time/money.

we are going in january and I havent booked airfare yet my dh keeps telling me it will go down... I can get it for 533 for 3 of us. I think its a good deal but he believes it will go down. any thoughts... anyone know any promo codes. milwaukee to MCO????

I have to book 9 tickets, with 3 different arrival/departure dates for April. I've already got anxiety over it! I'm hoping for anything under $200 pp from Manchester, NH.

I remember our first SWA trip in September 2000. Those were the days of $49 fares and I got nonstop RT tix for 5 for $545!!!:scared1: don't think I'll ever see those again!

Have you checked out SWA? I just have been hearing that beginning Nov 1 there are flights form Kansas City to Milwaukee...maybe that will help with their flights to Orlando. Fly to KC then a non-stop to Orlando from KC. Worth a try if you haven't already.

I'll be curious to see what fares come out next week as well. It seems fares have been climbing lately, so I don't expect to see a big sale from Southwest on Tuesday. I'm hoping for $89 or less from PHL, but not counting on it. I do see $70 from Allentown to Sanford, so I'm thinking about that as well. (Of course then I can forget about DME).

The nice thing about Southwest is that you can go ahead and book at whatever rate they're charging when the fares come out, then rebook with no penalty and take a credit for the difference if the fares come down.

We just booked jet blue for March14th- march22nd 4adults @ $258 a person from JFK! Woohoo we are excited about this price. we were waiting for southwest , but these prices were good and didn't want to miss out. I think southwest should put up there prices alittle sooner!

The last time they openned I book my fares for $54 each way out of Dulles. I booked my January ticket and my March ticket. I would like to see that price again for my late April/early May trip. You just can't beat $108 rt to WDW out of Wash. DC.

With the no baggage fees and the easy rebooking policies, SWA is still a good deal. Tuesday morning,I will be waiting by the pc looking for a good fare, anything under $225 r/t for me is good but $59 each way is better from chicago.:surfweb:

WOW! $49!! I could only dream :cloud9: I'll be waiting anxiously with you on the 13th! Good luck to us both :flower3:

I can't wait! I would love to have our flights all set so I can get to planning the rest of our trip! I'm really hoping for $1,000 or less for the 4 of us.

Good luck everyone!

Does anyone know what time of day they release the new flights on 10/13? We are looking for Easter week, so I think they may go fast.

When I talked to a rep last week, she said that the fare will be released on the morning of the 13th. It could be at midnight or it could be at 6am. My wife is making me stay up until they are released.:surfweb:

Oh boy- I already did part of an all nighter to make our Xmas holiday ADR's.I think I am going to go with 6am... I don't think I can do it again :)

When they released fares this past September 1 they weren't released until almost 11:00 est.

It used to always be around 10-11 AM (Eastern), but one time I remember they were out when I got up at 6 AM. Could just be when SW's web guy gets in and has his/her cup of coffee :)

Anyway, its about 9:15 Eastern here now and no new dates. I'm guessing we'll see them in the next couple of hours.

I'm waiting hoping for 1000.00 for all 4. Probably wish full thinking. But a girl can dream.

They are up--go, go, GO!!

I can get flights down for $59 or $69, depending on what day I go. I wanted to come back on a Sunday, but prices are high...so now I need to decide whether to book the trip down and wait for a better deal coming back, or leave Saturday instead of Sunday....

Good luck all!!

I booked, $800 for 4 people. Cheaper than any fares I have seen in a long time. We are off to see the mouse.
