When should I plan to visit if I want to be sure to see Star Wars Land?

My sister wants to plan a trip to stay at the Disney Resort Orlando with my family, the soonest would be summer 2017. She wants to be sure we can see "Star Wars Land." Would summer 2017 be too soon? When would you recommend to plan a trip to be sure we get to see it. We plan our trips years in advance. Thank you for your opinions/recommendations!

I don't think there is any way that Star Wars will be open in 2017. Disney has its hands full with the Avatarland which is supposed to open next year. If I had to guess, it will probably be 2019.

There are some Star Wars attractions at DHS that are interesting, but they will not compare to the eventual park.

2019 would be the very earliest. Personally, I doubt it ( although DLRs might be done by then). My bet is construction delays will take the opening back to 2020.

Thanks for the info. Just trying to figure out which "summer" to save the date for. I can count on one hand the summers I have left with all the kiddos at home. This is the time of year that I have to make reservations, so I'm guessing 2017 will be Yellowstone!!!
