when there is a line behind you, after pumping your gas do you

  • leave your car at the pump and go into the minimart

  • get into your car but sit and fix mirror, check your hair, put your belt on , etc and then leave

  • get into your, quickly pull away from the pump before doing anything else

  • you mean there was a liner behind me...

I voted try to move quickly out of the way - however - I would park at pump and go in to pay first if I had to pay with cash. Most pumps nowadays don't turn on unless you pay first. Even if I could pay after, I would leave my car at the pump because I would be worried that cashier might think I am driving off without paying if I moved up to a parking stall to go in and pay.

Also, from my experience - many many people pump and then stroll into the market and wait in the big ole line for cigarettes or milk or candy or whatever with zero regard for who is waiting behind them.

I don't pump my own gas. I pay at the pump, put on my seatbelt and then leave. Sorry if it bugs you that I don't leave the pump without my seatbelt on, but my safety comes first.

I do not like to go inside the store, so I usually pay with debit or put cash in the machine. When I get in the car after pumping, I do try to get out of the way as quickly as possible, but NOT until I put my seatbelt and hand sanitizer on!

If you dont pump your gas, why are you taking your seatbelt off? :confused3

I always pay at the pump. I can't remember the last time I have been to a gas station that didn't have that option. :confused3

If I need to run into the store or one of the kids needs to make a pit stop, I will usually move the car to a parking spot.

I voted that I leave but realized that sometimes I do go into the store so I need to change my vote.

This is usually when I'm paying cash. Only the pumps that are further away from the store are pre-pay so if I'm paying cash, leave my car at the pump and go into to pay. I'm always afraid that if I pull away (the parking is not in front of the store but on the side) that the police will be called.

I get out of the way as quickly as I can. I pay at the pump, so as soon as it spits out my receipt, I get back in and pull forward. Then I put the receipt/credit card away, put on my seat belt, crank the stereo, and GO! :thumbsup2

Now...parking spaces on the other hand...my parking space is MINE until I am ready to leave. I don't care how long you sit there with your blinker on...I don't care if I have nothing to do but sit there and look cute...I will leave that parking space when I'm ready and not a moment sooner! (there...I feel better! :rotfl:)

I pay at the pump,

But before I drive away, I do put on my seat belt, and get my ipod going. I can't do that while I'm driving, not safe. It only takes about 30 seconds. I also put my cell phone on the dash, in case it rings while driving, I don't have to search for it.

If I need to go inside, I move the car first.. since I"ve already paid. But, I'd still put on my seat belt. It's ingrained in me. I can make it 100 feet with no ipod though.

I pull up to the pump, pay at the pump and then drive away. I rarely go into the store. If I did and there is a line I will move my car before entering the store.

I always pay at the pump. I always leave quickly when there are people behind me, but I buckle my seat belt first. Card, wallet, receipt, resetting the gas/mileage thing, can all wait, my seat belt can't. My kids would have a fit if I didn't buckle first, too.

Me too... I usually just get out of my car, lock the doors just in case, pay at the pump, stand there and watch my money disappear :rotfl: and then unlock the door, lock it again once inside, put on the seat belt, turn on the car, and away I go :goodvibes

I buy my gas at Costco, where there is always a line. When I'm waiting to pull up to the pump, I get out my Costco card and my Amex, open the door to my gas cap and take off my seatbelt. When I reach the pump, I'm ready to go! I pump it, staying right next to it so when it ends, I can finish up and go.

Drives me crazy when people sit in line for 5-10 minutes, then don't take out their Costco card and form of payment until they get out of their car. Then they put the nozzle in, start it and go back and sit in their car. One day, the person in the front didn't notice her gas had stopped pumping for about 4 minutes. Truly amazing.

I pay at the pump. If there is a line behind me I will put out of the way of the pump, then I will take of everything I need to take care of

Nine times out of ten I pay at the pump, but it depends on the gas station what I do if I pay inside.

The cheapest station in our town also happens to be closest to my house. They don't have parking spots AFTER the pumps, only before them. :lmao: Oh, and you don't have to pay before you pump, if you can believe that. So, that is one case where I leave my car at the pump and go pay.

Doesn't seem to bother anyone because, like I said, there's nowhere to park after you pump. And since that station's the cheapest and has Thursday specials, plus fuel perks from a local grocery store, the lines get really long.

I was surprised at the total for moving the car. What stations do you go to that have enough parking for this? There's is usually 2 spots, but if its a busy day with a line these will be filled, there wouldn't be any out of the way place to park if there was a line accumulating either.

I don't pump my own gas.. There are still 3 gas stations up here near the lake where they pump the gas (same price as self-service) and when I'm at my DD's during the winter months, I so rarely use my car I can fill it before I leave here in Nov. and still have at least a quarter of a tank in mid-April when it's time to come back..:rotfl:
