my bedroom is close so the dog doesn't get in an the living room when i'm upstairs so i don't hear the telly every other room open

We keep doors closed to keep the dog out. She likes to go into our boy's old rooms that now function as guest rooms and unmake the beds. My husband and I argue about this all the time. He wants the beds made and ready for guests, but he also wants the dog to be able to look out those windows since they have a good view of the front of the house. It drives me nuts. He literally can't have it both ways!

Closed (and vent louvers closed) to reduce heating and air conditioning expense.
(For homes with radiators, the radiators can be covered, including around the back, with blankets.)

I live alone and aside from closet doors everything is open and stays open. I hate closed doors.

Open and blinds up . I hate dark halls . I would have three doors out of 4 up stairs closed. Only time I put the blinds down and have it dark is on hot days but doors still open to let the air circulate.

If my husband is on the phone, I like him in his office with the doors closed.

Closet doors are closed always.

If I’m doing laundry, I like that door closed, otherwise it is usually open.

The rest of the doors are for bathrooms and bedrooms, and only are closed when needed.

The only exception to the above, is when grandchildren are over, and depending on which ones, different doors may be closed for safety reasons.

Everything open. I know the fire department recommends sleeping with your bedroom door closed, but just never have done that. If there is a fire I will be able to better hear any of my five smoke detectors with the door open.

The only doors that are pretty much closed all the time is the laundry room door and the door to our basement.

Closed because of our dogs. My female cocker spaniel will get on beds and violate the pillows if the door is left open. If we didn't have dogs, I'd leave doors open. And yes, I know we "could" train her but she's a savage Texas girl. Gorgeous but willful and spiteful. You don't mess with Texas ladies even when they are other species.
