When It Rains, It Pours...

Earlier this week my mentally ill, drug addicted mother went off the rails, then, on Tuesday the cold water pipe to our water heater burst, flooding my laundry room. Today, we find out DH's work hours will be cut, beginning next week, from 66-70 hours per week to 40 hours per week. Boy, that's really going to hurt. I swear, there are some days I wish i hadn't gotten out of bed, and this entire week has been that way. Anyone else feeling totally beaten down? Come join my pity party!

Can I join, things here have been rough since OCt when i had to have an unschedualed c-section (okay not huge but still) , My father who Dh and I were taking care of passed in NOV (we are still very sad around here) We spent Christmas in a hotel because the roads were too bad to get where we were going. And Monday I had to have my appendix removed, I hope thing look up from here. okay my pity party is over time to think of all the things I have to be thankful for.

thanks, ladies wow, mlenz, i hope things improve for you as well. sounds like we've both had a rough go lately.
i tell ya, i have to laugh at these things, or i'd lose my mind...ok, what little i have left, lol.

Aw things will get better. And having a pity party is a good idea. When lots of hard luck falls on me all in a row, I always feel better after I've felt sorry for myself for a while. Hopefully your'e getting all of your "rainy days" over and done with right at the beginning of the year so that the rest of the year will be

Know how you feel. When things are really dark, and in this past year, they have been really dark - I just tell myself that at least we have our health. Things could be worse.

well, DH showed up for his first shift of the week this afternoon, and found out his work schedule had been changed...AGAIN. now he's only working 32 hours instead of 40 this week! i've got to laugh, to keep from crying.

Lady, I am a walking pity party this year. On Jan 10th, my husband of 11 years left me. The next week I had 2 deaths in my family. One cancer, one sudden. We've had 2 more deaths (a family friend & his grandmother) since then. It's only Feb 7. All this is less than 30 days!

I haven't worked FT in 9 years and am already up to my eyeballs in lawyer bills. I have zero job prospects w/out retraining. 2 devastated kids. Shall I continue?
