Can everyone give some virtual Pixie Dust to my DP Padalyn. She's been hit with a lot this week, and I think some PD would give her a boost.

As some know her Mom was in a serious accident earlier in the year. Her therapy isn't going to well and she has had set backs. Her father was diagnosed with cancer this week. And her Grandmother isn't doing well - and she is half way across the country. On top of all that, Cayla works a FT job, a PT job, and is a Master Program.

She is so torn and full of every emotion possible. So can we all give her a group hug and some pixie dust.

Ugh, you guys have had a year like mine!

Mine too! Padalyn has my sympathy. My Dad was diagnosed with cancer last year and had surgery last October. They got the cancer but since then there have been mutiple hospitalizations and complications. My Mom recently tore her ACL. I'm the primary caregiver so I know what she's dealing with. Tell her to just take it one day at a time, that's the best way to deal with it.

pixiedust: and :grouphug: for Padalyn; pixiedust: and :grouphug: for Mr. Conck; pixiedust: and :grouphug: for Saxton; and pixiedust: and :grouphug: for anybody else needing a little support too.

Padalyn and ConcKahuna have the strength of heroes, don't they? :thumbsup2
One step at a time through each day. Keep your heads up and your hearts strong.

Sending every good wish to both of you for a much easier path to walk!!!

Good thoughts coming your way! I know what its like to have a rough year!

I would like to say thanks for all the support. It has been an odd week.

I finally got a little more "real" information about my Grandmother. Yes, she is 102 and counting. She has been talking about being "tired" for a couple of years now.

The real issue here is that they have now started her on strong pain medication for the general aches and pains that have become overwhelming for her. She has chronic pneumonia that will not respond to any medication and her appetite is decreased (meds will do that) and she is tired - well...gee...she is getting morphine every 2 to 4 hours; I would be tired also!!

I got a hold of a nurse that was willing to tell me some truths about the issues, and it seems this has been happening over the last couple of months. The facility where she lives has tried to get her into Hospice, but my silly uncle has a bad opinion of them (I am a HUGE fan, pallative care is the best we can offer sometimes). So, no Hospice, now he is panicking that she is going to die.

The family is all alerted about Vi (Grandmother) and no one is really sure what is happening - silly uncle isn't talking. UGH.

My mother (person #2 on the power of attny) is all for letting her fade away, so we are hoping her brother (silly uncle) is not available when the do-do hits the fan.

My father is doing well with his treatments - he doesn't want to discuss any of it with me - so Mom is my intel for that one.

Mom is doing fair at best. Her physical therapy is causing great pain, and Dad is not really available to take her to the doctor. (I ask myself...am I chopped liver here?????) no one has asked me to help...so I am frustrated with that one. I told her today - call me...I can get up and take you. Brain dead - yes, but I will do it. GET TO THE DOCTOR....

So I don't have to retype the whole story here is the OTHER thread about my mom:

parents - you just can't train them.

Now that I have moaned and groaned..all is status quo again. People getting older and more frail. I again thank you all for the support. It has been a tough week.

I am just tired, anxiously awaiting next Tuesday - I get to WDW...I plan on relaxing as much as possible around my schoolwork. (yea, online classes - one still has to go even on Vacation....)

I've been reading and keeping you and your family in my thoughts. It just occured to me that I neglected to post and tell you so...:grouphug: :grouphug:

Silly me.
