I'm struggling with this. I'm really wanting to plan my familys next Disney trip. Probably because this time last year we were in full preparation mode to head to Disney on June 6th. I'm so sad we won't be there this year! Anyway I can't imagine going at any better time than when we went last year, even though it was as hot as all get out. I guess you just always want to try to relive that first trip ya know? So I need some rational talkers talking some sense into me about when you're most enjoyable time at Disney was so I don't continually plan this trip for the same time every year and get depressed when I can't make it happen by that time (like this year. :)

So what about spring break? Is it crazy busy in March? Or what about sometime in the fall? I can't bring myself to go when it would be cold....yet. That would just be too different from the first time. :) I hope I don't sound like a crazy person. :lmao:

I think Sept. is the best time to go, if you could work it out with school. It is quiet, the weatehr is pretty nice and the prices are lower. I am with you on the "cold" thing, I only want to go when we can swim!

We normally go in October, January, or May.....perfect times.

We went last year in Oct. and won't be able to go again until this Oct at the earliest.

I really want to go between Thanksgiving and Christmas......low crowds and the Christmas stuff is all up! :thumbsup2 DH's schedule NEVER lets him go during that time, but I am considering taking the kids without him this year as it has always been a dream of mine to go during this time.

He can go early January so I may just go then, before Christmas decor is gone.

We have went in February, March, and April. By far the end of March is our favorite time to go in the spring!

March can be busy with spring breaks. We went last year and it was pretty crowded. I love October, but we usually end up going in June only because its the easiest time for everyone to go.

We've been March, Oct and December. March was very crowded because of spring break but Disney had everything open and fully staffed. The weather was perfect- good for the pools but not so overbearingly hot. October wasn't that crowded, weather was great, some Halloween stuff up and the Food and Wine Festival was going on. The only complaint was the parks hours were at the minimal and some of the smaller venues weren't open. December-the 1st week- had minimal crowds and all the Christmas stuff was up. But the weather was COLD! Also it was during free dining and the only character breakfast I could get was at Cape May Café(During spring break I had no problems getting ADRs for Crystal Palace and Chef Mickeys on the days and around the times I wanted) So which time is the best? They all have their pros and cons- we 're happy any time we can go:)

How are the crowds and weather the week after thanksgiving? Is it still swimming weather or no?

We always go as soon as our school lets out, (we should be there now  ) end of May first week of June. :thumbsup2

We have been every month except July & August. We love Sept or Oct. We have had to switch to Spring Break in March most of the time now that the kids are older & harder to take out of school. One of our favorite things was early Dec for the Christmas stuff. It's not something that we would do often but at least once was great.

They aren't too bad, but they are getting more busy. The word is getting out that it is a good time to go.

As far as swimming weather, it is hard to say. Also I don't know where you are from, so that makes a difference. I am a born Floridian, to me any outside temp under 85 degrees, isn't happening. Also I like my water warm, we keep ours at about 87. (I am a wimp. lol) Also, the weather down here is crazy, you never know. It could be in the 80"s or it could be in the 50's. wish I could give you a more definite answer. The joke about FL is "don't like the weather, hang around 30 minutes, it will change". lol

I'm not sure of what my favorite time to go is, but my LEAST favorite time is January. We went in January 2009, and the parks were overrun with large tour groups of Brazilian teenagers. (From what I learned, this is school break time for them and group trips are very common in that month.) Imagine several different groups of 100 to 200 teenagers per park, with only a couple of chaperones per group to keep them in order. The chaperones carry a flag or banner, and the entire group follows, heedless of anyone in their path. During the course of the week, we experienced several instances of severe line jumping (as in 40-50 kids pushing their way past us in line to catch up with their friends). We were physically pushed and shoved by these kids numerous times. My DH complained to a cast member a few times, but he was basically told that there wasn't much that could be done since the groups of kids were so large.

I won't say that our entire trip was ruined, but it definitely caused some problems and killed a lot of the "magic" for us. For the record, I think that large teen groups of ANY nationality can cause problems, so I'm not trying to single out the Brazilians in this case.

If I had my choice of when to go, I'd probably pick early December...low crowds, not blazing hot or freezing cold, and the Christmas decorations are up.

We are going in early April. Is that a good time to go? we are also going Dec. 27-Jan 2nd in 2012-2013 just for new years. my mom would kill me if i took her grandbabies away during christmas lmao!:rotfl2: im hoping though that when we go April 2nd-11th 2011 it isnt to crowed cause spring break should be over for alot of schools and easter isnt till end of April. it should also be nice enough to swim right?

We've been in June (would not repeat, too hot and crowded for us). December (loved it!! DD's swam during this trip, no crowds, walked on to just about every ride, Christmas decorations were beautiful, weather great). And then several October trips, which is our favorite time to go! Great weather, low crowds, kids swim every day and we usually get awesome deals! :lovestruc

Our spring break is always the last week of March/ first week of April. Easter isn't a factor.

I am a full-on die hard September person for touring Disney. Crowds are LOW!!! It's hot, but for me that's not an issue (living in TX where currently it's approaching 96!!). It's definitely swim weather (I also need to have hot air and warm water if I'm goin' in!). For our family, it's just the perfect time to go.

We went the week after Thanksgiving. Had good temps for swimming and the crowds were low. We are rope drop people and have older (DS9 &DS12) kids so riding BTMR 3 times in a row was pretty cool! One of those times my DS12 didn't even have to get off the train.

My favorite time of the year to go is the first week of May. The weather tends to be warm and dry - perfect for swimming. Crowds tend to be low as spring break is over and schools are not yet out for summer.

My second favorite time of the year is the week after Thanksgiving. Crowds are lower compared to spring break and summer. All the Christmas decorations are up and celebrations are in full gear! The weather, however, can be unpredicatable. We were fortunate as it was in the upper 70's the last time we went in November.
