when is the cheapest time of year to go?

Hello-

I am trying to plan a trip for 2003. My goal is to be at Disneyland during the 50th anniversary celebration. I am wondering what month/time of year would be the cheapest and least crowded time to go?

First 3 weeks in December, mid-week - they had some incredible room rates this last year. The last 3 weeks in january, except for MLK day, are also supposedly very uncrowded. In December, you get the Christmas decorations and special features..

Just wanted to point out that they 50th is not until 2005

not sure if it is the cheapest but the best time is the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is the BEST time to go

In my humble opinion, being a Southern Cal resident for 8 years now, the best time to come here is October. First, the weather is still really nice, 75-85 and sunny. second, there are no, I repeat no crowds at DL during the middle of the week in early October. We always schedule at least one trip to DL in Oct. because its so nice to have to wait only 5 minutes for Splash mountain and Indiana Jones. my kids love to get off the ride and then run to the entrance and get right back on without a wait. On some rides they'll just let you stay on and on and on because there's noone else waiting. We got to ride the Rollar Coaster in Tune town 3 times without getting off! I was a little sick afterwards!

You should be able to get some nice prices for October. If you want to stay on the DL property, you'll want to book ahead of time since they frequently offer great fall rates and those deals fill up quickly.
