When is the best time to cruise (bahamas)?

We are looking about going on a cruise in 2015 or 16. When would be the best time to do a bahamas cruise?

Could you also explain to me what cost we would possibly run into besides the cruise itself?

I'm not sure when the best time to go is but we went twice in the month of April and are going again this year in April. We really like going during that time because the humidity isn't too bad and it is not as hot as it is during the summer.

Some additional costs you will have are any purchases you make while on the ship (Gifts, Souvenirs, Alcohol, etc.), Excursions, Photos, Tips and any items you purchase while at port (shopping).

We have cruised the Bahamas in mid June and at the end of May and it was very warm and humid both times. It's pretty much the same weather you would experience in Florida. We are cruising the Bahamas in April this year and while it shouldn't be as humid, the water will not be as warm either but we are from GA and are used to warm water.

I like cruising the Bahamas in August when it's nice and HOT. The water at Castaway Cay is glorious then and you can really enjoy it.

I like the Caribbean in June.

I live in S. Florida which is essentially the same weather as the Bahamas. I would say our best months are March-mid May and October. June is a rainy month. July can be quite hot, but also is usually a little drier. Aug-mid Oct is the highest probability time for a hurricane. But just get travel insurance! Sept tends to be a rainy month. October dries out and the ocean is still warm. November can still be nice though some cold fronts can start to appear. Can have gorgeous weather from Dec-late Feb, but the ocean water will not be very warm and there can be cold fronts (like we are having now). That said, the water will still be warmer than a typical beach temp in So California in the summer.

My favorite time of year is late October through early November. The weather is usually fabulous and it's cheaper, less crowded and the water is warmer than in spring.

We have gone in May, early November, and early December. It's definitely hooter and more humid in May but gorgeous. We have lucked out with 82 degrees in the other.

I read/heard somewhere that sodas where free and they had refillable stations set up, is this true? What about water?

Yes there is unlimited sodas. Best if you bring your own mug, cup, container as the cups are very small. There is also water available in the soda machine. If you want bottled water you have to pay for it.

Thank you very much! Tap water would be fine just DD mainly drinks water and milk and actually prefers it so just checking.

We like any time November except Thanksgiving week because of the cost. And December up until when the cost goes up for Christmas. The weather has always been good for us during this time, the water temp in December is a little cool when first dipping your toes in but once you get moving around its comfortable (at least for us).

I see another post does a good job of covering the extra costs.
