When is DVC rooms used most and which rooms book the quickest?

So I'm kind of curious when is the busiest time for DVC members? And which rooms typically book up the fastest? It seems that the first week in December is a popular time for a lot of DVC members.

The first 2 weeks of Dec, Christmas through New Years, and the fall during the food and wine festival are the busiest times of year with the December times the busiest. AKV concierge and value rooms, BWV- boardwalk and standard, and BLT standard rooms seem to be the first to go although again it depends on the time of year: BCV and BWV normally book fastest for food and wine but since their are significantly more rooms through the entire resort than the smaller categories I listed above. As far as room sizes I believe it is studios, Grand Villas, 2 bedrooms, and then 1 bedrooms for booking fastest by room size.

From late-September through marathon weekend in mid-January is easily the busiest time of the DVC year. Home resort priority is especially important during that time.

I just had to reschedule a November trip from the second week of November to the following week. It was difficult to find 4 or 5 nights together in a studio except for SSR. I booked SSR and waitlisted AKV Jambo & Kidani. Kidani came through in less than 24 hours. Everything else is pretty booked up.

Thanks everyone! We are looking at renting when we go in December (2015), but we may buy before then. So I'm just trying to figure it all out in time. We typically will vacation in January or February, but my DH is treating me to December as gift for him finishing his Doctorate (hopefully!)

Regarding AKV value villas, it has been my experience that studios and 2-bedrooms book quicker. While I have seen value 1-bedrooms available later in the day, studios and 2-bedrooms tend to book at 8am, at the 11-month mark.
