Hello :)

I have 2 vacations planned to WDW.

1. Feb 17- Feb 24 @ CBR in a preferred room
2. Mar 16- Mar 23 @ CBR in a standard room

We can only do one vacation. At our last visit we were in Martinque Bldg 21. The walk to Port Royal was OK. I would like to be bit closer this time.

I can get a waterview for March, but I am not sure if it is worth it. I know/hope that a preferred is worth the money.

Another deciding factor would be how many days my DD would miss of school. She missed 5 in Oct. when we went, but 4 were "excused" (long story). In Feb. she would miss 2 days and in Mar. she would miss 5 days.
I am also thinking about changing the dates in Mar. to the 15-22. She would only miss 4 days than.

I am not a cold weather person, worry about the crowds during the Feb. break, and how much school DD (2nd grade) can miss.

So, which time would be better ? Or should we go at a completly different time?
TIA:hug:

This is easy- Do not do March! March is spring break time. If you do not want crowds, then don't go in March. We have been at different times of the year and March was by far the most crowded. And when I say crowded, I mean crowded.:confused3

Thank you both so much :)

Would you or anyone else know if 3/1-3/8 would be better?

The Feb. vacation is planned for our winter break up here in NY. I worry that it might be too crowded than also.

3/1-3/8 I do not see many "schools/colleges" off then.

TIA :)

Feb week is President's Week so I am sure it will be very busy at that time. I would go in March

I agree - Presidents Week is much worse than any other week in February or March next year. With Easter being 4/10 or 4/12, those mobs won't arrive until early April.

So, I'd go in March, but I'd change my resort! I can't stand Caribbean Beach, and would stay anywhere else. However, there are plenty of others who like it - I just think it's a huge step down from the other moderates.

As for water view - total waste of money at any moderate resort. You do not have a private balcony or patio to SEE your water view. You're in a motel style building, so if you're sitting in your room with the drapes open looking at your view, everyone walking by outside your room is glancing in at you. The moderates are resorts where you keep the lights on and the drapes closed - the deluxe & dvc resorts are where you keep the drapes open all day/night and enjoy your view without anyone looking or walking past :scared1:

WDW1972: I wish that we could do AKL, but that is not possible this vacation. We are doing a makeupcation b/c our last one did not go as planned.

I am so torn :(

I need a crystal ball to help me decide...:rotfl:

It seems like no week that I pick will be what I would like,

2/17-2/24
3/1-3/8
3/16-3/27

Anyone else have a suggestion???

I think the 1st week of March there will not be as many people on spring break. We had gone on about the 3rd week of March and it was awful. I think the 1st week of March will be okay. That's probably your best bet!

I went last year first week of March for my birthday and let me tell you the crowds were great! It did pick up on the weekends but during the week everything was 20 minutes or less wait times. It was a really hot week even by March standards but it did not slow me down, an awesome time to visit!:goodvibes

Presidents week is nuts! very busy! Personally, I would avoid it.

Are you able to do the end of January / beginning of Feb.? we've found pretty low crowds & I think its still considered value or low season.

I would do Feb 17- Feb 24 @ CBR in a preferred room. Quick and easy reason = lower crowds. :)

Thank you all so much :) This makes me feel better.:grouphug:

I have booked 2/28-3/7 and I already have the 2/17-2/24...

I need to talk to my dd's school about missing another 5 days of school.

If we get the green light, we will go 2/28-3/7.

I want this trip to be so GRAND!!! and crowds tend to make it..well crowded. :rolleyes1

Probably the 1st week of March?

When I was looking on Disney's site under the calander section, they have a link to click on for the best time to visit WDW for lowest crowds. They list the first two weeks of Feb. and the first two weeks of March as some of these weeks. I was glad to see that as we are going the second week of March (7-14). Starting the 15th they expect the crowds to get big again.

We can only go from March 14-21 ( our March Break in Ontario )
We have been several times but never in March - so we don't know what to expect as far as weather and crowds.... I hope and PRAY...:worship:
That they are manageable - but more so for great weather! We are going for more of a down time - to spend at the resort than to go running through the parks. As we have another trip planned for August anyhow.
BUT I REALLY HOPE... fingers crossed that it won't be THAT bad!

There is a calendar on here somewhere actually of all the spring breaks across the US - I wish I remembered where it was! I would post the link for you...
anyone else know? NOT that it was at ALL BY ANY MEANS Encouraging to me!

We've been just about every time period there is. President's Week is for sure a "never again" in our book. It was absolutely insane the last time we did it, 2006!! Lines were ALL at least (least mind you) 2 hours. There were no fast passes left by the time we arrived at the parks and got to the rides an hour or so after park opening. We kept saying we felt so sorry for people who were having their first trip and wanted to say "it's not always like this"!!!
