We tried twice - I believe both times at night. Ended up walking away. When is the best time to go to the France bakery? (Obviously very busy at night). Maybe when they open at 11am?

It's very busy the last hour of the night because everyone is hanging around waiting for Illuminations. It's also busy every time "Impressions de France" ends and the audience exits right past the bakery. I believe the movie plays every 30 minutes on the hour so try heading early in the day when there is a show going on. BTW, you can get an excellent lunch there as well as pastries if you want to visit for an early lunch as soon as WS opens. They have a fruit and cheese plate, a ham sandwich on a baguette, and a good quiche as well.

Try around 11 am or during the afternoon (in the afternoon, try to time it to right before "Impressions de France" lets out....it always get crowded right after the show).
Hang in there-the pastries are worth it!

Ditto to all the above-
also, we find although the line can look pretty fearsome, it actually moves faster than you'd think it would, as it divides into 2 seperate lines once inside~
we go during the late afternoon or shortly after early opening.
On our last day we get one treat each to enjoy once we get back to 'reality' :guilty: Dh brings the ham & cheese croissant to work, there are a 'coven' of DVCers there & he gets a kick showing off :teeth:

The calorifically challenged in me says "When its closed!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I've never tried at the last hour, but I agree with Jean, the line in the evening looks bad, but there are 2 identical counters and once inside, just pick a side. It goes faster than it looks. Otherwise, the lines are usually shorter earlier in the day. We love to get the cheese plate, wine and some desserts to share!
