Hello all, our wedding is shooting for Feb 2008...so that means a Feb. 2007 is going to be right at a year. I'll probably call Fairy tale weddings before this....once I talk to someone when are any kind of deposits due for the wedding? Do I have to pay the deposit once I talk to someone about the wedding?

8 months out, when you sign your contract, your deposit is due.

DFTW will not "book" a Wedding until less than 1 year prior. From that 1 year mark, until 8 months prior, they will "tentatively" reserve your date and time. You should get a contract with your confirmed date and time at 8 months. At that time, you'll send back the contract with your guest list and pay the $1000 deposit. The rest of the money has to be paid in full 1 month prior to your wedding. Hope this helps. Good luck!

It also depends on your location wether the booking is 12 months out or 8 months. Some locations can be signed at 12 months instead of eight... it is mostly ball rooms that have to wait until the 8 month mark because Disney waits for conventions to book them.

We were going to use 2 rooms at GF. Since it's also a convention center, that division has priority on the spaces. DFTW can use the space is there is nothing else planned.

Don't you have to book a room for a night before you book the wedding?

toyotaae86lg - are you having a Custom or an Intimate? I don't know the details about a Custom but for an Intimate you have to book a 4-night stay at a Disney Resort and pay the deposit for the room nights before you can book your Intimate wedding. Our wedding was planning in February 2005 and I know things change, but we didn't pay anything else after the room night deposit until about 3 weeks before the wedding, then we paid the total balance due for the ceremony and any extras.

According to DFTW site:

What's the payment and deposit schedule for a Disney Vow Renewal?
An Intimate Vow Renewal requires a $500 non-refundable deposit. The balance of the package price and additional elements are due 30 days prior to your arrival date.

and

When can I reserve my vow renewal date?
Disney vow renewals can be tentatively booked 12 months in advance for deluxe locations and for a premium location 8 months in advance of your wedding date (based on availability). A minimum of 21 days to plan an Intimate Vow Renewal, and 30 days to plan a Custom Vow Renewal, is required. We are able to confirm all Custom Vow Renewal space eight months prior to your requested date.

I was told just today by Dan at DFTW that I should call in early November for Thanksgiving week next year. I forgot to add, that I am an intimate VR.

Does the same rules apply for a intimate wedding....as the intimate vow renewal?

The rules are the same for vow renewals and weddings. So you can book it a year in advance since Sea Breeze Point is a deluxe location. Also, at that time you will have to book 4 nights and pay the $500 deposit.

Good luck with your planning!

Alrighty, thanx for the info. With the minimum 4 night stay its a $500 deposit...but i'm planning on booking for a 13 night stay so will the deposit go up? Also will I have to make that deposit that day I call or once I get off the phone do I have some kind of grace period to pay the deposit?

No, the amount of time you stay does not affect your deposit. You are required to put down a $200 deposit on your reservation for the resort, tickets, etc. And then when you have the Reservation # you give that to your Wedding Planner. They will then write up a contract and send it to you. The Deposit for the Intimate Wedding is $500 and is due at the time you send in the contract. So, actually you will need aprox $700 in Deposits, but you have some time to get that together. The $200 is due first. It takes a week or 3 for them to get the contract together and emailed to you. When you get it, make sure you read ALL of it. Any corrections you need to make, make them and initial them, then send it to them via regular mail with your deposit. Hope this helps clear up all of your questions! :)

Everyone here is amazing and, yes, it did clear up a lot of questions I had...Thanx so much :thumbsup2
