When in doubt, feed the bear....but not that!!!Day 6- Last day blues

We won't be at the pool for a liitle while. Chloe is in Memphis with my parents this week then they are taking the bubble off of the pool. I will let you know the next time we are there. She is picking it up so quick that I definitely want to get her back ASAP. Hope things settle down soon :)

Oh yes. My son needs to collect some friends to help with that task. :lmao:
I know you will get back there soon and I will be there more come summertime. I help out at their home meets. :)

Too, too busy but I get a short reprieve before the next batch of busy.

Sat Dec 31st

I am up early and use the room coffee maker to make some coffee. I take it out on the balcony to drink and watch the sun come up.

My View from the balcony

I see at bus at 7:25 am

I wait and try to time this right…

My agenda today is AK. Being NYE every other park is packed and last time I was here this was the best choice. I carefully consult the bear and he decided to sleep in a bit.

I see another bus for AK at 7:42. I hustled down to the bus stop. Of course I begin to wait.

And Wait…..

And Wait…

At 8:02 another bus shows up :headache:

By the time we make it all around SSR it was 8:13am. Arriving at AK at 8:30am.

IMG_2911.jpg

With most of the early crowd in I was able to stop at the tree for a PP.

A New Exhibit – the North American Male

IMG_2915.jpg

As I walk to Africa I grab a FP for the safari- Once again my AP is not working. :headache:

I talk to the CM and get yet another card. I also get the news that starting soon they will be enforcing the FP return window. That day has come and gone. ;)

Stay tuned more later.....

I'm not looking forward to the new/old FP window rules. Although, we always used our allowed times because we thought that we had too. I had just learned about the leniency of the return times before my last trip and let me say that it was nice to be able to have that freedom. Now it'll just be more planning again. :(

A New Exhibit – the North American Male

IMG_2915.jpg

I just got 'MINGOed' again by Wigd yesterday. She's one up on me now, I think. I need to get out and do some shopping to find a another mingo to send out.

Of course, there's no mingo like a Disney mingo. :)

I've seen cast members using those supply stumps, too. Another example of how attuned WDW is to keeping the theme true.

I am curious to see how it changes my touring too. I used to use them and depending on the situation do use them when the window opens because I am usually in another park in the evening. It is the doubling back so it will take more planning or there will just be wasted FPs. :confused3

I always chuckle when I see CM in the enclose and thing oh it is the North American Male/Female exhibit. :rotfl: Yes I am a Dork.

Ha, well you showed up at AK about four hours before I did. We were still sound asleep from a long travel day. :rotfl:

I make it through the line and by 8:45 am I was here.

This is where the guide puts the radio on and remarks “13 years on the safari top 10” I love when the guides do that.

Love the early morning pics. It looks so peaceful. You pic of the sunrise turned out great. Chloe loves looking at the pics of the giraffes. Her best buddy is a stuffed giraffe named Raffie. Hope to see you soon :)

Beautiful morning in the AK!

I got MINGO'd for the first time last night by Pat.   I was very excited! LOL

Score on the lions! :cool1: I guess early morning really IS a good time to see them.

Very pretty view from your SSR building. It looks so quiet and peaceful.

Nice PP pics!

I think your day is off to a great start!

I think that supply stump in your "North American Male" picture is pretty cool....I've never seen that before.

It was nice out on that balcony. I am sure we can cross paths soon.

Yes Lions in the Am - Also right before they go in at night they are ready- they know the routine and will pace by the door.

SSR was nice and quiet- I was right by the bus stop so I had some of that noise but it wasn't bad.

My day started off great ended up great but some of the in between :sad2:

Great morning pics!

Thanks !

As I walked over to EE I got a text from Wigd. They were in the park and just getting off the safari.

I slowly meandered to allow them to catch up. In a few short minutes we were seeing this.

WHOO HOO

Anita and Marc were going up to one of the stores to see Judy Derench but I had a date.

Who can guess where I am heading????
Along the way…

IMG_2995.jpg

Now I am sure this will give away my destination…:lmao:

IMG_2996.jpg

I had plenty of time to walk around and take in the sights.

Now I have learned that MY MONKEY will come out on the swing by PUMBAA. As I go more often I try to figure out the best place to sit and in which section so I can get a good shot. I know pathetic right? :rolleyes1

In any event , out comes the float and yes he is swinging and smiling and waving. Between his movement on the swing, and the float moving and the dark conditions, getting a decent picture is almost impossible.

I cannot remember if it was this time but jillyb may be able to tell me. I believe as soon as I saw “my” monkey on the swing I MAY have let out an audible “YES” much to the surprise of the guy sitting next to me. I realized I had just said that out loud but it was too late….
I am sure my laughing at myself did not help my picture taking skills.

This one is so horribly blurry but you can still see his smile. :cloud9:

Yes, once again the best pictures are of My Monkey
After I had my tumble monkey fix I walked back out to finish my Tree quest.

That is a very nice monkey you have there. I understand why you would want to go and see him often. :lmao:
