DAY 1
That morning. Oh my gosh, probably the longest morning of my life. We woke up so early, since we went to an airport that was three hours away for better deals. It was probably the longest drive of my life. Good thing was that there was nobody at the airport and it was completely quiet so it was great to relax. We got some breakfast at Dunkin' Donuts and checked out all the stores until finally the plane came. We had to wait a bit after the plane landed since they had to go through all those crazy procedures. Yeah, I was very anxious to go, but its Disney! Like, who isn't anxious when they go?
They finally had everything prepared and had us all line up outside the terminal. We were one of the last groups to go in since we sat way in the back. We had a very nice flight with no problems or anything. One of the flight attendants kept on teasing me. I have no clue why.
The plane finally landed five hours later and we were in Orlando! Compared to the airport we had come from, this one was huge. It took like 45 minutes for us to finally get out of there. Then we had to wait twenty minutes until the Magic Express finally came for us and we were the last stop on the bus. So, pretty much I was having bad luck. And our bus driver had the thickest accent ever I couldn't understand one word he said, but that wasn't a problem. He was really nice. Every person who worked at Disney was nice. Just some of the people were jerks but that's another day.
So we finally came to our resort (Animal Kingdom Lodge: Kidani Village). It was really nice and so authentic. We checked in and, after bring our carry-ons to the room, went outside to check out the animals that were outside our resort in the reservation. It was pretty cool to be able to see them every morning. I got tons of pictures on my phone.
We ate at the restaurant there, Sanaa. That was the best meal I had in Disney and we had some pretty awesome meals there. I'd gotten this salmon dish for the main meal and a sampler for a dessert. They both rocked and the presentation of the dessert was so pretty I even took a picture of that.
After we finished Dinner, we went to the gift shop. There, we found about the "refillable mugs". Those things were lifesavers. I loved using them before I went to the parks. Having some ice cold root beer on a hot day was good. Then, we decided we were going to the pool. We went to our room and our luggage arrived.
We all got changed and took showers then went off to the pool. That was when things changed for the stormy. We started hearing thunder and when we got to the pool it was closed, but they let us check it out a bit but then we went back.
We hung out downstairs at the hotel and sat outside for a bit before the storm got nasty. My mom called the people who helped plan our trip and she told us she was going out shopping since we had no food. Then, this woman came up to us and got all freaky and said that "you shouldn't go out in this storm" "its coming from the hurricane that really hurt Texas" or something of that nature. My sister got freaked out and begged my mom not to leave. After that, we went up to our room and got everything set, got changed, took showers before the storm. My dad was in bed watching TV and my other sister went to sleep. My mom left to go shopping besides my sister's pleas.
We watched Avatar though we kept on looking out our room window and saw how bad it was. You could see the lightning clearly and the thunder was very loud. The rain came down so hard you could barely see anything through the window. My sister kept on calling my mom. My dad went to sleep and my sister and I still stayed up to wait for my mom. She continued to call my mom. Then we finally went to sleep, my sister whimpering. My mom did come back after she was sound asleep. After my mom had gone to take a shower when she got back, I fell asleep (slightly) excited for our full first day, off to the Magic Kingdom!
