When does your dining plan start?

I will be doing a split stay with two nights at Pop, then moving to WL for three nights with the dining plan. Will I have to physically check in at WL before being able to access my dining plan? I would like to send my bags on to WL then go to the parks and be able to do breakfast and lunch before actually going to WL.

In theory, once you are fully checked out of Pop, and checked in online for WL, you should have access to your credits.

This theory does not always match reality, and some people do not get access until they physically check in. Make sure you bring a backup form of payment, and you can get the Lodge desk to straighten stuff out for you later. The parks restaurant staff will NOT be able to straighten anything out if your credits aren't showing up and will need you to pay and take the receipts, though.

I'm in the same situation. 2 dining plans with my upcoming split stay. After checking out of AKL on a Friday morning with EMH morning at MK, we want to go straight to MK and not have to physically check in at BLT and waste time. I'm going to try to get all of this in writing from Disney to hopefully aid when/if the plan doesn't activate that Friday morning for the second plan. So in your experience, this can be worked out after the fact by the front desk? Good to know.

It will not matter if you get it in writing. Disney IT is not reliable. Folks at restaurants annot charge credits not in the account.

Pay.save the receipt. Have the desk work it out if needed.
