When does the charge go through?

I am getting ready to book our dining reservations bright and early tomorrow morning. We are using the DDP, but have a couple of 2 credit restaurants that we may just pay OOP.

Question: If I book HDDR and CRT tomorrow, when do we actually get charged? Does the charge go through right away? If not, do they have a hold on my card for 6 months? (Thats seems kind of crazy).

Just curious if anyone know.

If you book online they will go through right away. BUT, if you call the reservation line they will just put the CC on file and you can pay after you eat.

Are you sure because those are pre-paid meals not cc secured ADR's?

I don't know about HDDR, but for CRT if you're on the DDP they just take a credit card to secure the reservation. They don't charge you. This is what has always been done for me. HTH!!

Im not on the dining plan but I have CRT and HDDR reservations and I was charged for both at the time of booking. I have checked and both came off my card already.

Right, if you are on the DDP and link your reservations properly, they just take the cc info to secure the ADR but if you pay OOP (OP mentioned paying OOP for these meals) then I am pretty sure that the charges go through at booking.

Since you are on the DDP you they will just put a CC on file in case you are no shows. You can opt to use credits or pay OOP at the time of the reservation. If you are doing this online and DON'T want to pay in full right now make sure it says Credit Card Guarantee.

While making reservations for our October trip on Sunday, I made our Hoop Dee Doo reservation as well. Well I accidentally made it for today. The charge went through instantly. I had to call and get it straightened out. The charge will be reversed, but until then I am out $125.00.

When i spoke to Disney they told me if on DP they will not charge the card. If we don't use the DP then we have to pay that night or they will charge the CC on file.
