When does Thanksgiving open up?

I was able to book ADRs this morning and one of our Must Dos is Thanksgiving at the Biergarten. After an hour of errors I called at 7 and was told the special Thanksgiving meals aren’t released yet and I should continue checking.

Any idea when they’re released?

(Also, this was the worst experience booking ADRs I’ve ever had! Chrome, Safari, incognito, nothing worked. Finally got a couple through the MDE app.)

We are able to start booking our ADRs in 4 days and will be visiting over Thanksgiving, so would be interested to hear if anyone knows.

Also, any recommendations for Thanksgiving dinner in WDW (Liberty Tree excluded) would be gratefully received

I booked our Thanksgiving dinner this morning when it opened up and Biergarten is open and available - I'm not sure what the CM meant by them not being released?

There is a wide range of times available right now but it will book quickly. I would book it today.

Now, Disney doesn't release special menus for Thanksgiving until closer to the holiday but they don't open up reservations then - the restaurants are typically already booked.

I can’t find anything on Thanksgiving for lunch or dinner.

We enjoy Boma dinner on Thanksgiving. Also, most restaurants serve some type of food for the holiday but for some reason not all appear on the list that comes out.

Maybe when they said packages. They were thinking of the candlelight processional ones which are not out till later in the summer, more around 120-140 day mark. Boma is nice, Whispering canyon too I’ve heard
Side note : liberty tree was easy to get on the Friday or Saturday after thanksgiving at 180 day mark. Good luck

I think the problem is that Biergarten is one of the restaurants that are available for teh Candlelight Processional package and is probably being held back until tthe packages are released. Several Epcot restaurnats are included and it is not easy to book a lunch or dinner at those restaurants until they configure the CP package inventory. Then all is open at the same time.

Personally, I woudl book a backup restaurant now and then cancel if and when I booked one I preferred.

We did Thanksgiving Dinner at California Grill and it was incredible. It wasn't served "family style," but they offered a special, individually plated Turkey dinner that was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. Everything on the plate was delicious and there was just enough of everything!

Something to note in general for this thread-- I booked this dinner as soon as my ADR window opened, which was around this time of year I believe. While no special Thanksgiving offerings had formally been announced for the restaurants, as soon as I booked it, it showed up as "California Grill Thanksgiving Dinner" as opposed to just "California Grill Dinner," so I would look out for that if you want to book a restaurant but are unsure as to whether it will serve a Turkey dinner or not!

This is where we want to eat Thanksgiving dinner. ADR day was this morning and California Grill is literally grayed out on the calendar. Liberty Tree and Whispering Canyon also have no lunch or dinner available so I'm assuming they will just open later?

Set up a Touring Plan alert for when they go live. Disney never releases all the availability at 180 days.

That would have been the case last year, but Candlelight doesn’t start until Black Friday again. I was hoping the international festival of the holidays started the Sunday before thanksgiving like the last 2 years, but it appears Disney went back to the old model.

Yes, I'd say it's extremely likely that availability hasn't opened up yet. I would do what @SaintsManiac said and set up a reservation finder on TP or MD. Sci Fi Dine-In released their full availability two weeks before our trip last Thanksgiving! Good luck! :shamrock:

According to the WDW website today it says the Candlelight Processional begins on Thanksgiving Day, 11/28/19.
