When does Southwest release new dates?

I know they are 6 months out. Today its November 1st, so would the 2nd be available tomorrow? I am just trying to figure out how to book for future trips, do you snag a one way when available then wait until your departure day is available?

SW opens on May 6th for travel through January 5th.

The next date on sale/travel dates can be found under Travel Tools, See all Travel Tools.

I have previously booked the departure date and then had to wait for the next release to book the return leg of the trip.
