When does security open in mornings?

Wondering how early to be at the gates before opening to be toward the front of the lines at opening/ropedrop. How about on MM mornings?

It's about 30 minutes before the park opens can can vary widely. If they aren't open but you can walk through, you will want to wait because they clear the Esplanade and everyone they sweep out has to go through the check.

It depends on what time of year you are going. I have seen lines at the security tent up to an hour before park opening during Thanksgiving.
