When does Downtown Disney start to get crowded on Saturdays?

I've heard that DTD is really crowded on Saturday evenings; but we may decide that we don't feel like going to a park on our arrival day and just head down to DTD Marketplace for an early dinner and a little shopping. When does it start to get crowded on Saturdays and do the Disney resort buses run a little more frequently to/from DTD on Saturday evenings? Thanks

This past May we went over for dinner at 3:30 because we wanted to avoid the crowd and it was not crowded. Even when we were done with dinner it still wasn't crowded. But it does get very very crowded on the weekends

Well in my opinion the earlier you can get there the better. It gets busy and busier all day. Sometimes even though the walkways aren't too bad the WOD and Lego stores are still packed.

I find the DTD buses run pretty frequently all day long. But depending on where you are staying they may be combined with other hotels and often include a stop at a water park (if they are still open.) I LOATHE the DTD buses and if I have a car I always use it; if not the buses will be fine.
