When does Disney put up Christmas Decorations

My family is starting to figure out when to go to Disney this year and we would like to know when does Disney start putting up their decorations at the resorts and the theme parks. Is it only right after Thanksgiving? Also is the Mickey Merry X-mas party only after Thanksgiving.

Hi, most of the Christmas decorations are in place by the second week in November...around the 14th.

MVMCP starts after Thanksgiving.

There are several phases of putting up the Christmas decorations. I think they start with resorts, then to merchandising locations, then the theme parks are last. If memory serves, they start on the resorts in early October - maybe even late September.

For decorations, it depends, resorts and theme parks, and DTD....for the party, check the site and keep getting updates, and get your tickets early!

For Christmas trees in the parks and actual lighting of the EPCOT Lights of Winter arch, you have to wait until day after Thanksgiving.

Oops - forgot to add - Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party usually runs 3 or 4 nights per week beginning Thanksgiving weekend and ending the weekend PRIOR to Christmas. Usually dates are announced in July. Tickets are available soon after dates are announced.
