I know that obviously my kids can eat with my DD and I at the dining rooms. We have the late seating and are on a waitlist for the early one. I don't think it will change though. Anyway...I don't think my kids can wait that long to eat. What are your experiences about the kids eating in the clubs? Has anyone let their kids do this and just the parents go to the dining rooms? Feedback appreciated!! Thanks.

If I remember correctly, the kids in the club/lab eat earlier than the early seating (something like 5 or 5:30pm). I think in your situation, you may want to have them eat when they are hungry at Plutos and they can either go with you to the late seating (they may want to snack on something from the menu) or catch up with new friends in the club/lab while you go to late dinner. If they go to the late seating with you, they can then experience the dining rooms, and try new foods or even dessert. Sometimes it is just fun to watch everyone in the restaurants.

Our kids are 8 & 9 and we just got back. For us, we needed to feed the kids and then get everyone ready for the 6:30 show, so we went up to the fast food by the pools. There's pizza, tacos, handburgers hot dogs, fish and chicken burgers and of course fries. You can get milk on this deck as well as water or buy sodas.

After the 6:30 show we usually went to the Rockin Bar D for the shorter 7:45 show which was very entertaining in a smaller place where the kids can usually sit on the floor up front. The show always ended in time for us to go right to the 8:30 seating. My younger son often fell asleep during dinner while we held him and ate - tricky - or took turns taking him to the room. The waiters are very willing to send dessert or entrees with remaining family members to any that have gone to the room early.

As much as my kids enjoyed those 7:45 shows, the later seating ended up being worth it. Some kids like to eat with the clubs - our kids liked the computer time and some of the activities but never wanted to eat with them, so we didn't push it.

Have a great time! Try to relax as soon as you get there!

What kind of show is at Rockin Bar D? Is it child friendly? We leave Saturday and have the late seating too. I'm curious of what to do after dinner. Do most people go to bed?My kids are 7&9!

We went on the 4 day cruise last Sept and had late seating. The first two nights we went right to bed after dinner since our twins were only 3. Well, I had horrible indigestion both nights and came very close to vomiting the 2nd night. I told DH there was no way I was going straight to bed the other nights. DD and I went to the family dance party which started somewhere around 10:30 and I think we finally left about midnight. There are also movies playing in the Buena Vista theater and you have a movie channel and Disney classic movie channel in your room. There's also dance parties and adult themed showsi-but they're for 18 and older crowd.

Yes! There was absolutely nothing to object to at the Rockin Bar D show. The jokes may be a bit corny sometimes, but it was so fun to laugh with the kids. There was a funny juggler/comedian and a "magician/comedian" - Rich Pupera, and a ventriloquist/comedian (again!). These entertainers also put on an adult show at the same location after 10PM - it's in the navigator. In this show they supposedly take their Mickey ears off a bit. We were always too tired to make it back for that and of course you must be over 18 to go to that.

A funny thing - two of the entertainers leave the ship in St. Martin, and two board the ship the same day. My DH saw someone boarding with luggage and a steel kitchen sink in St. Martin - it turned out to be the juggler that night. Anyway, the two that boarded the ship had a few brief good humored jokes about starting off their cruise with the fire! One said we looked different without our orange vests on! (You may have had to be there.) Anyway - you will have so much fun!

We cruised last August with a 3 and a 1 year old for 7 days. They came to the early dinner with us twice and that was plenty! The other nights we ordered room service and let them eat while we got ready for our dinner with just the adults. Then by 5:45 they were off to the Lab and Flounders Nursery. DH and I then ate in peace! AHHHHHHH
